CIGARETTES, WHISKEY AND WILD WILD WOMEN chorus: Cigarettes, whiskey and wild wild women They'll drive you crazy, they'll drive you insane; Cigarettes, whiskey and wild wild women They'll drive you crazy, they'll drive you insane; Once I was happy and had a good wife I had enough money to last me for life Then I met with a gal and we went on a spree She taught me smokin' and drinkin' whiskee (CHORUS) Cigarettes are a blight on the whole human race A man is a monkey with one in his face; Take warning dear friend, take warning dear brother A fire's on one end, a fools on the t'other. (CHORUS) And now good people, I'm broken with faith The lines on my face make a well written page I'm weavin' this story -- how sadly but true On women and whiskey and what they can do (CHORUS) Write the cross at the head of my grave For women and whiskey here lies a poor slave. Take warnin' poor stranger, take warnin' dear friend In wide clear letters this tale of my end. (CHORUS)

....and here I was thinking day old microwaved coffee is pretty good. I suspect there's a story behind that bold quote.

I hear Meth will help me loose the weight I gained when I quit smoking?

Yep, just wastes away right off the old bones...
The joys of poisoning yourself during your youth dim quite a bit once you realize your going to live to be old. Been there, done that, lived to carp about it.

I'm glad I gave almost everything up when I was young. Smoked a little wacky tabacky for a few years after I quit everything else but gave that up too ,many years ago.
Spent my cigarette and booze money on bikes instead.

Matt, Matt, Matt! I think you need to hear directly from those poor lost souls who've been down this rocky path before you and can tell you where you're headed if you don't change your evil ways, young man..... http://youtube.com/watch?v=FqxIARvy1nE

Agreed, Several of my friends have gone that way, and I do mean gone,as in forever. I hate to see anyone do that to themselves. Is Yota reading?

Speaking of drinking and Terry, I was drinking some beer the other day that reminded me of him...

Well, you're in luck then, Terry. I don't know if you know this but there's a worldwide hop shortage. No kiddin'!!! My friend who owns a brew pub here in Torrance CA was on Page 1 of the local newspaper earlier this week, and along side his picture was the headline, "UnHoppy Brewers") (and NO...just because that was one lousy pun DON'T go jumpin' to any false conclusions!!!....No! I DON'T write for that newspaper!!!!)

Life isn't a rehearsal - THIS IS IT and you only got one ! There has been some sad, bad news on this site recently and I know from experience the gamut of emotions those guys are going through. I wish I could comfort them but it hurts me as much now as it did on 27 Feb 2006 when my wife died. Today she would have been 56. We met when she was 15 and would have been married 35 years this year. We sacrificed so much raising and providing for a family and were looking forward to a long and comfortable retirement. I think of the things we said we'd do "when the kids grew up and didn't need us any more", "when we had saved enough money". "when we didn't have to work" and "when the house is paid for". The times when we were tempted to spend money we hadn't got. While all our friend were borrowing money like crazy, running up big debts for foreign holidays and new cars. where are they now ? Still borrowing and spending and struggling to pay the bills. No early retirement for them ! but they have been places, done things and lived life to the full. Don't get me wrong, me and the wife and family travelled a lot from Los Angeles to Dubai, the Canary Islands to Austria and in relative luxury. But there was a lot more we had planned. Now I've got my big payout from pensions, severance pay and insurances. The house is worth a fortune, at least 40 times what it cost me to build in 1972 - 75 and we could now have lived the life we'd planned and saved for. What good is all this money to me ? Half of it is hers and she isn't here to enjoy it. And if I get old and need care, the government will take it all off me to pay for it. If I didn't have money - I'd get it for free ! So live your lives to the full. As long as you don't harm anyone else or expect them to bail you out, then good luck to you ! Most of all do what YOU want to do and do it NOW.
If you do it today you MIGHT regret it. If you CAN'T do it tomorrow you WILL regret it.
