Watched the last of the "Long Way Down" on TV last night & whilst they were in South Africa & guy on a America stopped & helped them out .... only problem was Charlie Boorman called it a "Triumph California" Still what does he know about proper bikes?

Martyn If you have to ask why I ride, you wouldn't understand the answer!

Rod spotted that .. I must admit, I thought it was an America too, not a Speedy.
I only saw it quickly though.

Didn't the boy Booreman call it ".. a lovely old classic Triumph California .. " ??

Oops!

TV people seldom know what they are talking about these days. They just blather away. For example, back when you got the news by radio (wireless for the UK folk), California had what was called a Santana wind named for a Mexican general who used the tactic of unexpectedly sweeping down out of the hills and making things hot for those in the valley just as the wind does. Then the TV news people renamed it the Santa Anna wind. This year, it became the Santa Anna event.

...as compared to those all too infrequent Santa ANITA wins, huh GB?

(betting on those ponies can surely sweep down and kill one's bank account too, ya know)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
