Been kind of a rainy week here. When I got on my bike to ride this morning the throttle wanted to stick open. I had to manually rotate to closed. Any thoughts on what I should look at and how to repair?

Biker, I had the same problem & found that the the whole throttle unit had moved & was causing it to stick. Loosen up the unit & re-align it with the mark on the handlebar.
Young enough to care-less & old enough to know-better. Sooo how do you like me now!!! Whaaaat!!

Also probably wouldn't hurt to shoot a bit of PB Blaster or WD40 on the center return spring between the carb bodies, on the carb throttle shaft.

Have you put any spacers on your handle bars? After I put Jim's spacers on and a day of rideing in Death Valley my throttle did the same thing. I rerouted the cables so they did not have such a sharp bend in them. They've been fine since.

Dan is probably right. They seem to just stick sometimes, by loosening and retighten the right side grip assembly usually cures it.
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.

Thanks for all your help. I have already tried some WD-40 when I got back this morning. Now I'll try to realign the throttle unit.

What is probably causing the throttle to stick is the cap in the end of the bar. Make sure there's a gap between the grip and that cap. (By moving the control up the bar a little). The torque for the 2 bolts is 15 nm.

The exact thing happened to my bike, thought about using it as a 'cruise control' but then found the right grip had shifted and was loose.. Readjusted and tightened been great ever since.
