Anybody here play video games? Anybody on XBox Live? I just got Guitar Hero III and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for XBox 360 and I'm wasting the whole weekend playing them. Plus we've got like 1/4 of an inch of ice on the ground outside. Which gives me another excuse to play games.

I have the original xbox, but do not do online gaming. I have pretty much every motorcycle race game there is. I like to play Moto GP on the computer too, Jane has it on hers too and we network and race each other all winter. Gotta pass the time somehow, the other thing we do usually do on cold winter days only takes a few minutes.....

I have PS2 and a wii, right now I'm playing Zelda. Takes a long time to play that game. I want to play Star Wars Battlefront online on the playstation, but I need to set the system up still. Winter is when I play the most, work gets slow and it kind of sucks being outside.

Haven't upgraded to the 360 yet. I'm a big Halo fan, though. But I'm also a big PC gaming fan, too, mostly first person shooters like Quake and Half-Life. Prey was kinda cool, too. Nothing beats the Half-Life 2 series, though.

Guitar Hero III is so hard! I am having a heck of a time with beating it on medium! I don't even want to know what hard is going to be like!

I've got xbox and a wii. I love first-person shooters. Crazy about Halo and Star Wars: Battlefront. Occasionally friends and I'll get together and they'll bring their systems over, we'll network them and just waste a day playing, drinking and eating pizza.
I was into Half-life and real-time strategy games on the PC when I owned a business and we had a network of computers setup just for that purpose.
One day I'll upgrade to the 360.

A Bards tale, now that's a game. Runs on PS2. The constant friction between the bard and narrator really make the game fun. I'm still waiting for the sequel.

XBox 360, Wii, Gamecube, N64, Playstation (original), Gameboy Advance, and Gameboy DS. Hi everyone, my name is Levi and I'm a nerd. Playing Bioshock on 360 right now, it is my new favorite game, even beating out Gears of War and Rainbow 6 Vegas. Well, gotta go. My mom says it's time to eat my grilled cheese and put my jammies on...

Right there with you, Levi. Yes, I was one of the dorks that waited in line at midnight for Halo 3. My boy and I had it finished by the following day. Call of Duty 4 is on the Christmas list. We're playing Crysis (PC) right now. What an awesome game this is!! If you like FPS' do your self a favor and get this game.
night night, Levi....

I really wanted Call of Duty 4, but the single player campaign is only supposed to be 4-5 hours long. The real joy is supposed to be in the online play, and I don't have Xbox Live so it would just be a waste for me.

Thats the beauty of PS3 you don't need anything extra and as long as you have an internet connection you can surf the web, chat online, play online , download games and trial versions of games, and update the software online. All is free except to buy full version games. Plus PS3 plays Blue Ray discs and music as well as handles pictures and memory cards from cameras and many USB devices. PS3 does even more than I can describe because I don't use all the functions.

Yep, you play completely online. It costs about $20 for the game itself and it comes with a one month card. After that, it's $15/mo. But it is absolutely the best game you can play. How can 9,000,000 people be wrong! :-)

I refuse to buy a new video game until they bring out a sequel to Bards Tail. The dialogs between the character and narrator make that game worth any price.
By the way, maybe someone here can tell me about another game. I've had Rune: Viking Warlord laying around for quite a while now. At the start, it is obvious that you are supposed to walk down the dock, up a valley and enter the town. BUT, I can't seem to find any way up or around the cliff to get to the town.
My favorite of online games is Ultima. The content is amazing. Unfortunately, my DSL line is not much good, given to fits of really long ping times and dropouts up to 3 minutes long.

Used to play Morrowind every once in a while on the PC. Thought the game was clever, but like most video games I got bored with it after awhile and lose interest.
I'd like to try Oblivion sometime, but I'm unsure if my ATI Radeon Mobility 2600 and dual core laptop can handle the graphics requirement.
Maybe someday I'll get back into it.
Regards,
Tom

Isn't that a great game? I've been alternating between that and Halo 3 over the past week. Are you on Xbox Live? I haven't played anyone on there yet. I do have some friends that want to, though.
Oh, and, get Gears of War. If you like CoD4, you'll like that, too. My biggest problem switching between CoD4 and Halo 3 is the controls. In the former, to aim, you pull the left trigger. In Halo 3, that throws (wastes) a grenade instead.

I have a X-Box, one of the old consoles, not the new super dooper one. I have two games, Formula 1 Motor Racing Championship and FIFA Soccer. Dont see the need for any other games.

I just love the detail of it. I want Gears of War and also I hear that Bioshock is great as well. I've already finished Halo 3 and CoD4 (not working right now so lots of time to play).
I haven't gotten onto live yet since I need the wireless accessory but the birthday is coming up so maybe the girlfriend will get it for me.

Speaking of games.. I've become the caretaker of an Xbox-360. Havnt tried plaing it yet, figure my 51 yr old rflexes may not be up to the challenge. Anybody out there know of any games for this system not geared to 18 yr olds? Had an old 16 bit nintendo, Legend of Zelda about my speeed.. Anything like that for the X-360?

I had to give the gaming up for a while. Had Game Cube and PS1. I've always been a Nintendo guy. Played almost every Zelda(except for the multi player stuff) Love Metroid and the Prince of Persia games too. I'm also a big tomb raider fan. There are just to many to name but never been into the sport ones. In a year I'll most most likely get a Wii.

If you are worried about reflexes the Wii might be the answer. I heard it has become popular with older gamers and in fact (not that I'm refering you as a senior) some of the games are even targeted to the senior demographic. Sorry that I have no info on the X-Box and don't know to much about that system.

Jack, I always check this site, Gamespot before I decide to buy a game. They do a pretty good job of reviewing the games and giving them a score of 1-10. What I also like is they provide an average score of what their competitors have given the game and let members of the site give a score which then gets averaged out as well. If you look there they have games separated into categories so you can choose the type of game you like to play. One dork signing off.

I've got dozens of games for the PC that include fighter pilot, car/motorcycle racing, and FPS games from the DOS era to Windows Vista. I have a PS1 i never use anymore since I got my PS2. I started gaming back in the 1980s with arcade video games and had opportunity to work in that industry as a repair tech in the late 80s. The last few years have seen a shift from driving/flight simms to FPS games Castle Wolfenstein (DOS) and later Return to Castle Wolfenstein (Windows.) I don't play all the time. Seems to come in phases. When I'm in gaming mode I'll spend hours or days on the PC or Console playing the game I'm on at that time. I've got every Call of Duty for the PC and PS2. I've got Halo 1 & 2 for the PC. Don't guess I'll be getting Halo 3 unless they produce it for the PC.I can live without it. Halo 2 was for Vista only which I have only on my laptop and don't intend on putting it on anything else I have. Laptops are just not built for gaming. My next console investment will be the PS3. But at ths point in time I can only see that for the Blu-Ray capability. Where I live we don't have DSL or any other hi-speed internet unless I want to get a satelite interent hook up which is not supposed to very good for gaming. Anyone have any input on that? Right now all I have is dialup so thats a closed door to online gaming.
Well thats my two cents worth and some change. These days all I want to do is read the postings on BA.com. Go figure.
Its more fun to be ridin'! I'm still ridin

Play games? heck I make them! I'm a senior environment artist at a local game studio. I do not play console games anymore. Computers are better to upgrade and keep up to date. Right now I am playing: Team Fortress2 Half-Life Episode One (I'm behind, the latest is episode two) Portal- awesome game! Company of Heroes- my favorite RTS I have yet to pick up Call of Duty 4, I know the Senior animator of that game

I just find it more convenient to play console games although I do like the option of having the keyboard and mouse as controllers on a PC. When I had my business one of the things we offered was networked play and tournaments, that is what got me back into gaming after leaving it years ago.

another good idea is to rent a game before you buy it to see if you like it. Then look on Ebay and EB Games and other used dealers. I have gotten most of mine that way. PSX,PS one, PS2, and PS3 now.
