Was pleased with Napoleon bar end mirrors on my shorter Superbars until the mounting loosened up shortly after installation. They have a low-tech expanding rubber sleeve "designed" for 7/8" bars, and a little piece of clear plastic tubing to crudely adapt to our 1" bars. I initially had to add a piece of bicycle inner tube to get the things to work. Last night I was trying to fix the left one again, the rubber was falling apart. Rooting around in the garage, I came across a bicycle handlebar stem with that wedge thing in the bottom. I cut off the bottom of the stem, turned it down a bit in my machine shop (belt sander upside down in my lap) to fit inside bar end, and bolted the whole thing up. Napoleon bolt happened to match threaded wedge hole. Works great. Mirror is rock solid.
Now I've got to fix the right side. Where did my daughter leave her bike....
