Take a look at Airguy's photo album. That is a flame job that is inspiring. Looks even better in person.

My suggestion is to hit the local HD shops for recommendations on painters and then go and check out their work.

Saw a new Rocket yesterday and they have a silver flame 'custom' paintjob as an option.

Probably be available soon for ours - cost might be a bit rediculous though

Since I did not get a lot of responce from the group,I kind of went out on an Internet S&D mission. Came up with several places that would.I am stuck between old school 1950's Flames, and modern Ghost Flames. I pretty much just wanted to get the tank shot,so it looks like it will cost somewhere between $450.00 and $700.00. Shipping is also going to eat up $45.00 or more each way.I think I am going to try several local shops to see if I can work something out.I am somewhat of an extravert when it comes to my toys, so I will probably go with the 50's style flames! I just love them bright yellow to orange to red flames, pinstripe outlined in lite blue. Al

Check out my paint.

It came from Hermy's BMW/Triumph in Port Clinto, PA

I'm now pinstriping the fenders, etc. in the blue that edges the flames.

I have a friend (painted my bike) who might be able to give me a recommendation for a decent shop in Vegas. While that's not his (Dupont) territory he spends a fair amount of time there at trade shows like SEMA. I sent him an e-mail and I'll let you know if anything comes of it.

Thanks, Ryan !! I've liked that look ever since I saw an ol' '32 Deuce (back in the 60's)in HOT ROD mag painted like that. Am still considering red rims w/ chrome spokes.

Also, anyone considered taking a gloss black tank & taping off ghost flames, then shooting it with flat black? Just thought the gloss & flat combo might look cool (?).

bonnybeamer -

your flames are excellent & flames never seem to get old. i had thought the same as you about the combo of gloss & flat flames in my imaginings. don't think i've ever seen it done - seems it would look cool. BTW - for our science crowd regards flames...... what would be the corect color progression for temperature increase?

Hum... I'd guess right the opposite of my tank;
Yellow> Orange> Red> Blue> White ????

My friend gave me the high-dollar, high-quality shop, a place in Lake Havesu called Squeegies. He said he'd ask around for some shops that might have more moderate pricing.

Not that I could see or find. I couldn't find a listing in the yellow pages either. I'll ask my friend.
