On Saturday morning, I went scouting around for houses as my wife and I are thinking of moving. When I got home the radio was reporting that a young newlywed couple had been murdered at their home, and they lived right where I had been scouting around. In fact, I had been right down the same street and had looked with interest at the house next door. Unknown to me then was the fact that there were two dead bodies next door ( see story here ). The house I was looking at was this one. I was there before the victims were discovered. Now, a local paper is reporting about the human debries that did the dastardly deed. It reads as follows, TACOMA, Wash. -- The Pierce County sheriff's office says the man suspected of killing a couple near Graham was released from prison last summer in Massachusetts, after serving time for murder - reportedly killing his mother. Detective Ed Troyer says the man moved to Washington to marry a prison pen pal. They lived within sight of the home where Brian and Beverley Mauck were found dead Saturday night after another neighbor noticed their door kicked in. How comforting it is to know that Massachusetts lets loose these "misunderstood people" that the only thing they did wrong was "KILL THEIR OWN MOTHER!" This is an apparent parallel universe folks. -BT

The Death Penalty prevents such things from happening - um, more than once............and the "make my day law" we have in Oklahoma has even prevented the once !

Here in the woods, I never felt the need to have more than a shotgun in the house. Since this happend a little too close to home, and the news is offering a few too many home invasion stories for my liking, my wife will soon have easy access to a few Colt Pythons fulla hollow points here & there & within easy reach under this or behind that around the house. If it ever gets to the ugly need, which it probably never will, I at least want her to have point & shoot ease without the need to cock or rack, along with the stopping power of a very large exit wound. Our local hero here in Houston called 911 last week, reported his neighbors house was being burglarized, and told the operator that if the police were not there when they came out, he was going to kill them. They were'nt, and he did. Live, on the 911 call, broadcast for all to hear. Check this out: Man shoots his neighbor's burglars  And this guy is now the one "on trial", or at least he is about to be. Un-friggin-believable.

I'm all for stopping the bad guys, but that guy played judge and jurry by deciding burglary was punnishable by death. I totally feel for his frustration, but it's definitely walking the line, if not crossing it. If it was his own house and he felt his life was in danger, swing away!

I am totally sympathetic to shooting thieves,(man, i hate thieves) but I gotta say, maybe he stepped over the line with this one. Around here, the common saying is "if you shoot a burglar, make sure you drag his carcas into the home." Additionally, I suppose I could forgive some dumb***kid stealing, but these guy were definately old enough to know better!

Maybe it's time to play judge and jury.
It seems the judges and the juries don't want to do it. I don't own a gun, but I have been considering buying several in the near future. The dopers and the misfits are creeping closer, year by year, and I don't have the wherewithal to move.
If spending the rest of my life in jail for shooting a lesser life form means my wife or neighbor or innocent kids will still be alive, so be it.
It's time to take our neighborhoods back from the scum and the pc legal system that sets them free to prey again.

Good on 'im. He was defending that part of his neighbors life that he had spent earning what was stolen. When a person makes a decision to steal, rape, damage property, whatever, they morally and should also legally accept whatever happens to them. There was a time when it was open season on criminals and it should have remained so.

judge and jury is one thing, but it was burglary, and he said "I will kill them" before they were even done. He decided burglary deserved death... Nobody is debating burglary is wrong! That's obvious. But he coulda shot for a kneee cap...

I know all the local Police, where they live in the area, and all of my neighbors for two blocks.
we've got a similar problem. Used to be a really nice neighborhood. Now we have armed robberies less than 2 miles away in broad daylight. In the house are my wife and children. Security comes from two labs and a chow. If the 200 lbs of teeth doesn't deter you, perhaps the glock or 12ga with 00 will. I'm not playing around anymore. Long gone are the days when you could just whip someone's butt and be done with it. We're getting out to the country just as soon as we can...

We got the same problem here in Brisbane & The Gold Coast, just last weekend a gang of kids attacked an off duty cop & his girlfriend & beat the cop up pretty severley, the sick part of it was the kids were nearly all aged between 10 & 14
they have caught a couple of them - a 10 yo. &v an 11yo.
We're not allowed to have guns of any description over here more the pity

I'm seriously split on this one. I believe that if your life (or your family's, or someone else's) is in danger, and you can alleviate the situation, then by all means - Do So. If that results in the aggressors demise - Oh Freakin Well, They shouldn't have been such animals in the first place. HOWEVER, no one's life was in danger that day in Texas. A television isn't worth someone's life. I think the guy will probably go to jail for quite some time for manslaughter. What makes it worse is that he is ON RECORD saying that he's going to KILL THEM. Never say that you are going to kill someone before the fact. Repeat after me "Officer, I'm going to apprehend the misguided gentlemen with a citizens arrest".
Crime is getting way out of hand. My Homeland Defense Measures are a .45 cal EAA Witness and a 9mm semi-auto assault rifle. I won't hesitate to protect me & mine, but that guy stepped over the line.

Just look at our situation where 3 kids can assault Wendy (disabled woman) and Amanda (our pregnant daughter),leave visible injuries and get charged with trespassing! Then allowed to drive off! It's no wonder things like this happen. People in for murder regularly get out after just a few years and it sickens me. I am all for the use of deadly force to protect family and home! I am also for the death penalty in cases where all doubt has been addressed,and I don't mean leave them on death row for years but do it! Not 20 years later! It is a sad fact that these things seem to be moving in everywhere, I live in the Poconos and it used to be a wonderful place to live. Almost no crime , no litter , rural and now it's the invasion of the NYers and there is litter everywhere, violence ,robbery,drive like idiots etc.. They act like they are still in the inner city ghettos. People used to honey moon here and vacation here and now I can't imagine paying to vacation here, I would be ******. It is high time this country got tough on offenders, I understand a kid doing something stupid and that happens but a violent crime or burglery or something like that should be punished early. Our towns and cities seem to be being overtaken by thugs and criminals and almost aided by law enforcment by the act of not doing anything to the offenders. The days of a burgler being able to sue when hurt during the commission of a crime should end! If they get hurt breaking in or trespassing then they got what they deserve and should not have any legal recourse against the home owner weather the dog bit them or they got hurt any other way. If we stop letting criminals get away with things maybe a few of them would think twice before committing a crime. Over crowding? Who cares. If they hadn't committed a crime they wouldn't be there! I don't care if it's 3 to a bunk or 9 guys in a 2 man cell, let them take turns lieing down to sleep!

Elections have consequences. With the Supreme Court set to rule on a 2nd amendment case over the next year that should become crystal clear by election time. One side wants you to be able to defend yourself, your family and your property while the other side wants you to cower in a corner and wait for the government to come save you. You choose when you vote.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Beware of establishing any messiah complexes (thinking that if the right person is elected or not, all will be good or bad) regarding politicians. Especially at the national level where party platforms rule.

Many years ago, I disabled a man who held a knife to me during a robbery. His lawyer spent months trying to get me to pay for his injury and his subsequent "inability to work". BS! If he'd had any intention of "working" for a living, he wouldn't have robbed me!

I have been voting for RON PAUL ever since he started hitting state level ballots out of Lake Jackson, Tx.
I think we have to admit that a lot of what he warned us about "back then" has come to be, and the man seems to a a thinker with some answers/solutions. I am just happy that he still has the guts to still run for office, and that he has the support that he has to keep doing so.
He may not live to see alot of the changes he would like to see made, but I think a lot of us are going to live to see a lot of what he warned us about come true. Shame.
The Republican Party was to much like the Democratic Party in a lot of respects, and he lost faith in BOTH a long time ago.
He gets my attention.
