I'm looking for something to wear over my work clothes and I'm not really too interested in heated gear...warm, easy on and off is the objective. Any ideas?

The CE Schmidt brand of insulated overalls and coveralls was on sale yesterday at a Tractor Supply store in CT

The link shows retail pricing. I don't recall the sale prices.

I have a pair of these

They're a might bulky, but very warm. A pair of heavy duty suspenders made them more user friendly to me. My only complaint is they aren't designed for use without the liner due to the way the padding is attached.

Chaps. Rain suit. Flannel-lined jeans.

It all depends on several factors. All of the above will block some wind, some cold, for a certain amount of time....

I have a pair of Olympia overpants that have worked real well. They don't sell the particular style I have anymore, but they have this style now.

The separate rain liner is kind of a pain to deal with, but not a deal killer. Mine are not insulated, but I've worn them down into the 20s and have been fine.

Most of the other major manufactures have similar style overpants. The First Gear Overpants were the ones I originally wanted to buy, but the Olympias were on closeout a year ago for half the cost.

If you're interested in leather, there are these Power Trip overpants, I saw them at a local store and they were really nice. Or, if you're looking for a cheaper solution, Jafrum sells a set of leather overpants for half the cost.

If getting something really warm isn't necessary, someone last year suggested going to a sports store and buy a set of warm-up pants like basketball players wear. I tried looking for some, but never found any.

Opinion?

Get some!

I have a pair of TRIUMPH pants I think they now call the Western Jeans, although I am not sure it is the same material (I saw some TRIUMPH women's pants in the dealer's recently that almost felt like a rubbery outer fabric and was very thin).

Mine are a heavy Cordura, riveted at the stress points, 5-pocket jean style (with the fifth pocket "coin" on the left as it should be), mesh-lined, with the "windproof, waterproof, breathable" membrane between the Cordura and the mesh. Jet Black, they almost look like dress slacks except for the patch (jean style) rear pockets and the rivets. Roomy enough to pull over other jeans, but I tried pulling them over dress slacks once and thought that not the best thing to do (the dress slacks pulls up the leg with the overpant). I have worn them alone in colder weather but think they really are better as overpants.

Wish they had zippers up the lower legs so that I could pull them on or off with my boots on.

It may be my gut, but it is not so easy to put socks on, or tie boot laces with these overpants over my jeans.....

But I like them a lot, and wear them a lot in the Winter season. I usually wash them once a year with NIKWASH prep and waterproofing...makes them real slick against my saddle though.

Makes cold and wind and light rain bearable in any conditions I would ride in.

I think they are only $129.00 U.S.

Before I moved to Florida I lived in sunny Wisconsin.
Ski bib-overalls worked great.

Great idea I ordered the Olympia over pants a few days ago but...what the hey, I could use a back up anyway and I've got a pair of ski pants in the closet collecting dust! I went to the closet, took em down and off the hanger only to be reminded a few moments later that I haven't been skiing in about six years and forty pounds ago extra forty pounds...maybe thats why they nicknamed me Wheezer,,,nah

I've often thought a pair of insulated ski bibs would work fine for motorcycling. That or a pair of heaviestduty/fullyinsulated/gortexcovered snowmobile suit.
