Does anyone out there have any experience with Dr. Martens being used for riding? Are they a good boot for riding or should I be looking at something a little different?
It's like chasing a race horse on steroids!!!

Didn't like 'em. Gave mine to OJ along with a nice pair of matching leather gloves. That ingreat never did thank me - just complained the gloves were a bit tight.

Live in Docs... Normally toe caps but not always.
I could start ranting about how they are now made in Thailand....(sound familiar) But I won't.
But really I have loads of pairs and ride in them always.

My first pair of riding boots were industrial DM's with steel toe. Loved em.

I've been riding in Docs for a while. I find them no better or worse than any other unlined leather shoe. If you are riding in the cold they are not that well insulated and lined boot is better. They are fine in the heat and wet. Recommend above the ankle boots in case you come off to avoid having your ankle ground off by bitumen.
