I was looking at the new issue of Rider Magazine today and noticed there was a big article about the PG. Thought some of you may want to pick up a copy and take a look. I'm ex Air Force, so I can relate to how wonderful this group is. I signed up not too long ago, hopefully more of you folks will too.
Thanks, Paw.

Under rides and rallys there is a post that keeps us up to date on the runs(missions) Haven't made one myself since I am usually busy and don't get to go on most rides because I work weekends over the summer. I like the idea though.

I ride with the PGR. It is an honor and priviledge to support our Soldiers, Sailors, Airman, and Marines whom have given it all. As a retired Soldier, I want the PGR to escort my funeral when it comes. It is truly awe inspiring to be a part of and to see. The last one I did had about 150-200 bikes down a small town main street escorting a Soldier being hauled by a motorcycle pulling his casket on a trailer. The WHOLE town of about 1000 people lined the road with flags. Hard to ride with tears pouring out of your eyes and a baseball sized lump in your throat. Please get involved with the PGR if you have the time. Our men and women deserve and I dont think you can do anything that would make you feel better.
Today is Thank a Soldier Day. Please celebrate all day long.

It really aggrevates me that certain people would try to cut the funding of our troops while they are still engaged. Our troops deserve our support always weather you agree or disagree with what they have been ordered to do. They have been ordered so if there is a complaint it needs to be taken to the person ultimately responsable for that order not the troops who are defending our rights and freedom with their lives.
I know this borders on political so if it's too far to that side feel free to nuke it but it's what I think.

Those westboro wannabe Baptists have largely been neutered by PGR activities and legislation in most of the states.
In most states they have enacted laws that limit how close they can get to a funeral in progress thereby making their bogus protests weak and innefectual. That lawsuit win helps a lot also.

The ironic thing is that soldiers have given their lives over the years so that wackos like this church can protest in this way. Our constitution protects their right to voice their opinion, no matter how misguided we (sane individuals) feel they are. There is a good chance that the judgement will be overturned on appeal on a strictly constitutional basis. The only way to marginalize it is to have a counter demonstration that overwhelms it and conceals it. I'm not so sure that I want the government deciding and legislating what is proper and what is not. It is likely that if we give congress that ability, I will find myself on the wrong side of the law in short order...

I agree except that to do something like that at anyones funeral for any reason is wrong. I don't care if it was Jewish holocost survivors at Hitlers funeral. A funeral is a quiet show of love and respect for the dead and should not be negatively disturbed. (the hitler thing might have been over the top but it illustarates my point)

Anyone who thinks that what the westboro losers do is "freedom of speech" ....well I am sorry but they are short one a six pack thats for sure.
They are amongst the world's worst type of mongrel. I do not even consider them (westboro church members) to be of the same specie as the rest of us.
They are lower than subcutaneous ancient embedded whale dung ..

I doubt the judgment against Westboro Bastardized Church will be overturned. The case was not about the "free speech" of the demonstrators, but about the damage done to the family of the fallen.
And even if it is a free speech issue, neither hate speech nor slander are protected constitutionally - WBC's message is both.

You are entitled to your opinion and I SHARE it. We are like-minded in some things. Choice of motorcycle. Participation in a great forum. There are people in this world who feel that riding a motorcycle under any conditions is totally insane. That a forum based on that activity is not necessary, because the activity it relates to is INSANE. I respect their opinion, but disagree fervently. As much as I despise this group of lunatics, I love the fact that we live in a country in which their behavior is allowed. The response by the Patriot Guard and others to conceal the lunatics from the families and to turn up in numbers far exceeding them is the correct way to respond. You never know when something that you do will be perceived by others to be wrong or not in sync with popular society.

Freedom of speech is not absolute. With great power comes great responsibility (I got that from Spiderman). You cannot run into a crowded theater and yell "FIRE!"
The judgment is awesome and I hope it stands.

Just rode my 13th Patriot Guard Mission. Have been eyeball to eyeball with the Phelps crowd on four of them. I notice they have taken down their website-maybe they are giving up?
