Hi, guys. A quickie question now then I'll more than likely add a few more on the subject at a later date.
I'm thinking of changing my cap to, erm, something else. I've not decided what, yet, but I do like the aero-style filler caps and need some info. I've used this picture purely for illustration so ignore the dimensions (tho if you can tell me the dimensions I'd need, that'd be great!)

Am I right in thinking that the 'funnel' screws into the current threads, it's then screwed/bolted down to the surrounding surface and then used the normal way?

Thassit fer now. Cheers, Neill

(Incidentally, I'm not thinking of using it with the stock dash; I'm hoping to fab a lower profile alternative.)

NewBonneville sells the Kuryakyn flush mount. Not sure you'd have many other options (without spending a fortune modifying the tank.

There are some affordable options but they require cutting the old threaded area out and welding in the new bung. Some nice totally flush caps that you push in and then they pop up so you can open them.

That's going to require a ton of work to get it to mount to the stock tank. Like, cutting and welding and painting type work. If you pull the dash off you'll see a raised lip around the stock filler bung that will pretty much prevent you from bolting that thing down flush.

I don't know where you got that picture, but chances are if it is threaded it will be for a Harley style filler, not Triumph. They're not the same. I got a Monza style flip up filler for my new tank but I got a harley filler bung to weld into the tank (relocated from the stock location) and the harley threaded version of the filler. I figured it would give me more options down the road.

I'm not going to be attaching it to directly to the tank (as I know that's gonna cost); I was thinking of removing the dash and, using the lugs that're there, fitting a piece of flat(ish) ally of similar size but a lot closer to the tank. I'd then bolt the filler cap surround to this. I'd be relocating my tacho and idiot lights so wouldn't need the clearance for those.

Bill-I did a search but most of the posts concerned which gasket to use or the fact that they didn't fit later models (Kury); which mine is. :|

Thanks, all.
