Which bike were you trying to link to?

I kind of like the XS-V1 Sakura but see many reasons I wouldn't want it.

I think it looks pretty slick, myself. Any idea when they are going to produce them, or if they will even be available in the US? Would like to see one in person.

didn't suzuki try something like this standard, though not in a retro vein, with the vx800 in the early '90's. didn't do to well in the u.s. but better in europe.

As was mentioned in another thread, this looks very Italian. Personally, I like it. New pipes, a 904 BB, rumors of a 1500 and it's a peach!

2002 Bandit 1200/ GSXR cams/ 1277 BB Kit/ Holeshot header and can/ 38mm flatslides/ a good head/lotsa hp/lotsa tq- lots of rear tires...

Sweet. It's no Newnan peach though.

Or as was heard on a TV show long ago...Interesting, verrrry interesting!

Quote:

From the Yamaha press release:

We display the “XS-V1 Sakura” (special exhibition model / prototype) as a symbol of our long-nurtured corporate philosophy. This is a V-twin sport model with a look of “Japanese style” in the image of Yamaha’s first 4-stroke model, the XS-1 (650cc), released in 1970. Its design is full of XS-1 DNA, in its simplicity and functional beauty and finds new refinement in a retro-modern aesthetic. It is a model that proposes a very Yamaha and very Japanese vision of premium motorcycling life, bringing together the unique characteristics of a 1,000cc air-cooled, V-twin model with its strong pulse feeling and easy-going running performance in a finely crafted body that is lightweight and slim and defined by a low seat height.

No worries though as the XS-V1 Sakura is a mere figment of a winter solstice dream.
