I ordered a dynojet kit from newbonneville.com last week, got it in the mail yesterday, and after opening it this morning, found that there was no certificate for the free dyno run.
Am I missing something or was it not supposed to come with one?

One other thing, the kit is part number 5122.001, which is for the 2005-2007 SM/A 900cc, when my bike is a 2006 with the 790cc. Is that going to make any difference?

Are you sure you have the 790cc motor...my 2006 speedmaster has the 865cc motor (they call it the 900)

I am positive I have the 790cc. The dealer sold it to me that way brand new and all the paperwork shows 790cc. If the dealer is wrong, well then there isn't much I can do about it anyway. The VIN will not decode the engine size, so if there is an obvious way to tell, I am all ears.

correct me if I am wrong but didn't the America stay 790 and the SM went 865 in 06 or was that 05? It is possible if you have an America that it is a 790 when the SM was 865 if so the jets might not be the same. I am not sure how the dyno jet kits work as far as jet size, I heard they use their own numbers. With luck someone will chime in that knows exactly what years the America stayed 790 , all I know for sure is it was after 04.

I checked a few websites out there and it looks like 2006 was the split year. America had the 790cc the SM got the new 865cc. After 2006, 865cc all the way. I planned on having a local guy dyno and tune the bike for around $300 after I get my new pipes here next week. After that, no more modifications. I have custom bike build starting and I need the money going there.

One of the reasons I chose a speedmaster was cos as an 05 it had the 865 as opposed to the 790 America.

My guess is that you have the correct kit that should work with any of the newer models including your 790 America. I had my dealer install mine and use whatever they felt were the best parts but don't have a part number. The 04 and later Speedmaster's have the 865s. The America didn't change until 07.

Well even if the kit is the right one, which I hope it is, I still didn't get the most expensive part of the kit when I bought it, the certificate for the dyno run. I sent an email to sales@newbonneville and hopefully I will get a reply tomorrow as to what I am going to have to do to get one.

I bought a kit last year and received a voucher for a dyno which cos I lived in Aus, sent to Pat (dinqua)given all the work he has done for us. Anyway, having used newbonnyville many times now, I imagine it is only a minor error on the packing person's behalf and would be surprised if Brent didn't have your voucher sent to you in the next couple of days. Regarding the kit, what makes you think it may not be the right one? here's the site In fact I don't know what the difference would be between the 2004 and 2005-2006 kits Maybe someone out there can help but I thought the jets and needles were interchangable.

Newbonneville.com doesn't make/pack these kits, they just sell them. They come directly from his supplier who is either another reseller or directly from DynoJet themselves. If you go to the DynoJet website, you will see there are two different kits for each of the two motors that we use. Kit 5122 is for 2005-2007 SM/America w/900cc motor. Kit 5120 is for 2004 SM/America w/790cc motor. DynoJet for TriumphI went off the newbonneville site which doesn't mention motor size, just year and model, and bought the 5122 as it fit my year. After receiving the package, I find out it's for a different motor AND doesn't have the certificate. I am not going to jump to some conclusion until I correspond with someone at newbonneville.com and determine the best resolution. But I still question if this is the correct kit for my 2006 America with a 790cc motor.

Gotch Russ. I don't reckon there would be too much difference between one kit and the other just because all the parts supplied would be much the same. I'm sure it will be sorted anyway.

Well come to find out from Brent that the website is wrong, there is no longer a free dyno run included with the kits anymore. On top of that, the jets in the kit I bought are proly too rich for my bike. So every way you look at it, I am going to have to return the kit; I just have no purpose with it. In my mind, the parts included are not worth the $100 without the free dyno run. I would be better off just letting the guy who is going to tune my bike just supply the jets himself as I am pretty sure he knows what he is doing.

If you have any questions about DynoJet Kits go to the DynoJet website and send them a message with your question. The guys are really good and they get back to you within a day or two. I was a bit confused as to which kit I needed. I sent them a note with the details of my bike and what the differences were in the kits I was asking about and received a prompt and accurate reply.

It does appear that after reading the PDF files on each kit that the parts are different. I would think you need the one for the 790 engine and forget what year the kits say. The fact that the America recently changed to the same engine as the Speedmaster probably confused the labeling issue.

I agree, it's the wrong kit for me. I think for what I am doing, just letting the guy who is going to dyno and tune the bike handle the parts I need.
I sent an email to Brent asking to return the kit I bought as it really is of no use to me now.

I used Bella Corse for my jet kit. Told him my pipe setup and all the rest (airbox and such) and he sent me the correct kit (mains and pilots) along with hex head SS screws to replace the tiny phillips screws for 16 bucks.

Called up the guy at Bell Corse and had him ship me the same setup. Hopefully this will clear up the lean mixture I am running and get the bike back on track.

Hi, guys. A quick question: what's included in a DJ kit? I've done a search of the web but it's been a bit vague.

Cheers, Greg. I did read all that prior to asking but I'm still a bit confused. Am I right in thinking that you get 1 needle, 1 main jet, 1 pilot jet (maybe) and an air jet (whatever that is)? Where it refers to 'grooves', are these akin to shims? If so, is a DJ kit worth it or am I as well using DJC (Pats Jetting Calc.) and sorting my own out? I'm not after monster power gains (yet), I just want a good air/fuel mixture throughout the rev range. EDIT: One? I meant one for each carb but I know now.

8 Main Jets (4 sizes) 2 Fuel Needles (adjustable) 2 Slide Springs 4 E-Clips (for the groves in the needles) 4 Shims 1 D-Tool Carrying Case
They no longer provide a free dyno run, which in turn makes the kit way over priced. You are way better off buying the parts as you need them. I just ordered a kit for $15 from Bella Corse and it worked out great. Came with the jets, shims, and a hex head screw kit for the carbs. Depending on what modifications you have done at the moment, you may not need to replace the needles or use adjustable ones. The kits from DynoJet also use their own system of jet sizes, not the standard Keihin system. They are a waste of money.

Cheers, Russ. You confirmed what I was thinking. I'll work out what I think I'll need and buy the components seperately.

The needles are probably the best part of the kit. I bought the kit but the dealer ended up using the needles, springs, and clips and didn't use the jets as I already had those. BUT, I have the kit and keep all the excess parts, jets, and stuff in it. If the dealer makes a change, they either use my parts, or it not in my kit, put new ones in and put the old ones in my kit.
