NO NEED TO REPLY TO THIS (let's see who ignores this and posts something, or worse still, PMs me coz I won't be here to get 'em!! ) Anyone fancy a rideout Sunday 4th Nov? I'll be leaving Donnington services (M1, J23a/24) @ 9am. Heading north east, Bridlington / Scarborough sorta direction (for the simple reason, I aint never been!). Anyone who fancies tagging along, be at the services ready to leave 9am. Probably boring route there (but the m/ways serve a purpose I s'pose!!), M1, M18, M62. Route back, probably N York moors and across the Pennines to M6. Met office are threatening half decent weather for the next few days, just a bit nippy. Just want to catch one of the last riding weekends. Don't ask the distance, I can't be arsed to work it out. I set off at 9am and get back when I get back. I'll also warn you, as I've never been there before, we might get lost at some point!! However, I will be bringing a Tuffmap ... though to be fair, they are as good as scribbling the route on the back of a fag packet! Not selling this very well, am I??

Nevermind mate, I'm up for it. Let me know when you're near York, we'll hook up somewhere and I'll and show you the best roads to get to the coast. Will try and get in touch with Beano also and anyone else who might be interested? I've got your mobile no if it hasn't changed, will text you. Cheers, Dave.

I'll head towards York then.

Nice one. After the A1 take the A64 toward York, you'll eventually reach a roundabout, turn left and then left at the next (very nearby) roundabout. Ride about 200 yds and you'll see a Toby Carvery pub. Will meet you in the car park mate.

No mate! Just follow the A64, till you reach a roundabout, there's only one roundabout (don't take any slip roads!) it's NE of York. (Near Huntington & Stockton on the Forest). Hope that makes more sense Be nice to see you again mate!

Thanks Dave (Dafydd) for a good tour around Scarborough and Bridlington, not to mention Driffield really enjoyed myself. The company of Funkletrumpet and Paul and also meeting Mike was great as well.
A little wild heading home over the M62, really windy and cold but the firework display was an added bonus.. Arrived home at 20.45 after a really great ride out

Glad you enjoyed it Ray, had a great day myself. Was nice to catch up with you both and Mike again. Bet you had a good view of the fireworks from the M62! Looks like we were lucky with the weather also, definite change for the worse today

Yeah, what Ray said! It was certainly better having your inside knowledge of the back roads rather than plodding on the 'A' roads everywhere I usually take. I can't believe it had been more than 12 months since I last saw Mike too! I'm certain Paul's Thunderbird sport looked better than the last time I saw it - a lovely bike. I had a complete nightmare of a journey home - I didn't get back until nearly 10pm!! After setting out at 8am, I was not a happy bunny!! DON'T ask, I'll bore you all with it next time I meet up.

Should of come with me mate down the M62, it was free all the way home..
Bike ran lovely, and those front brakes are a big improvement, really cold though, must invest in some sort of winter warmers. Great day out mate and thanks to everyone that made the effort.
