Anyone painted the upper shrouds black?
Yes I tried a search.... Found a lot of info on chrome shrouds, but none painted. Wondering how they will look with black forks!

Thanks! Looks nice, altho I've taken my lower shrouds off... I like the contrast of the black and the silver trees. Maybe one day I'll get ambitious and smooth out my lower tree....

My only hesitation is that my lower tree is the old "as cast" one, so it won't look great... But we'll see

Yeah, I know what ya mean. Mine's a '02 BA also, and those early lower triple-clamp castings were awful, with a capital "AW"!
My suggestion would be to paint it black along with the upper and lower shrouds, and the sliders also.
I sometimes think of doing this very same thing, but with gaiters instead of the lower shrouds. And even though I think it would look really hot that way and give the bike a more "real Triumph look", 'cuz the old Meriden Triumph's folks were black ya know, I'm too chicken and/or lazy to do it.
(and BTW...in my book, this guy's covered rear shocks are a perfect touch too, though I'm not that sure about the whitewall tires)

I'm likin the look of the black forks and silver trees tho... Especially witht a machined look. I'm tempted to take the lower tree off and introduce it to my stationary belt sander. I've taken off the lower fork shrouds, so it will look nice against the black forks and shrouds.

I wonder how that would look with fork gaiters with black upper shrouds, polished yokes and lower legs.

You already know it would look fabulous

Doesn't Triumph have a chrome cover for that?
Why not go with all black forks forks chrome upper and lower trees and upper and lower gaitors.

I think I'm going to try black painted uppers, fork gaitors, and polished yokes and lower legs. That might look sexy.

FJ I think polished upper and lower yokes with the black between would look sweet. Reverse oreo kinda. Soren, all black is on the list of possabilities! Will look cool with stainless hardware I'm fine with the machined look of my upper yoke, the problem is that craptacular finish on the lower yoke... would be so much easier to just paint it.

Hiya, guys. I'm a lil confused. Where the ****** do fork gaiters go on these things? Am I right in thinking that the 2 thicker sections above and below the lower yoke are just shrouds? In which case, you'd remove the lower shroud and fit the gaitors there?

Fork removal is really quite easy... Putting them back is easy too!
