Just put another 50 miles on. Up to 105 miles! Took some back roads with some long, swooping corners - I was impressed! I am sure you guys already know, but it was very comfortable going fast through the corners. Liking it more every mile.

That's GREAT, Josh!!!

Now do us all a favor and swing through Mayfield and by Ward Cleaver's house, and take him to the very same Triumph dealer you appear to have cultivated such a great relationship with so far!!!

(if he hems and haws, just tell him to settle down and have his checkbook ready by the time you guys get there)

You just wish you had little backroads with no traffic and deer, squirrels, and racoon everywhere.

Now WAIT just a cotton pickin' minute there, Josh!

I'll have you know that we here in SoCal DO in fact have backroads TOO! And if ya get far enough away from the Concrete Jungle, there can be little or no traffic at all EITHER!!!

BUT, in addition to deer, squirrels and racoons, we ALSO have the "excitement" of "cornering" around the occassional brush fires that rage around here TOO!!! So THERE!!!

(hmmmm...seems these people back east will never know how much "fun" living out here in the Golden State really is, huh?!)

I know of one think that I am jealous of though - hills and mountains! It is so stinkin flat in the middle of Illinois. I lived out 30 miles East of Seattle for about a year. MAN I wish I had a motorcycle then.

Come on down here, plenty of hills and twisties to keep you busy!

Seattle, huh?! So you LIKE ridin' in the constant rain, do ya?!)

(okay...at least you don't get soaking wet during the "brush fire season" down here...that is, unless of course one of those big ol' Super Scoopers fly over ya while you're riding past an inferno)

Naw, but thanks for askin', Ed! I live deep within the abovementioned "Concrete Jungle" of L.A.(that stuff don't burn too well, ya know), about twenty miles from the nearest fire that took place last week.(the Malibu fire being about the closest one to us)

But the ash from all the fires did cover my Silverado which sits in my driveway.

I actually worry more about our other home in Prescott AZ, as that one sits in an area known as "The Pines", which is very very close to the Prescott National Forest.

and the road up there to the left

looks like a great road to ride. We have plenty of fun twisty back roads here in the Poconos with tons of hills. I know plenty to get air at the top and smashed down into your seat at the bottom the air again at the top several times in a row with no flat spots in between. I love that roller coaster feeling!

There's just enough twisties to keep the ride interesting in the area of North Carolina where I live.
You can also ride year-round here.

I grew up just up the road from Jacksonville (near Macomb, so ok, an hour "up the road"), but when did you guys get rid of the deer and coons that I used to dodge all the time! Although, as bad as they were in west central Illinoise(heehee), they aren't nearly as bad as Critter Central here in western CT, where apparently there isn't much if any hunting. Deer and ticks as far as the eye can see, and even had one intrepid raccoon come into our kitchen through our back porch and a partially openend window this summer!!

I didn't word that right. We have tons of deer, racoons, and there are BILLIONS of squirrels. Not only do we have to worry about crazy people, we have to worry about crazy wildlife!

Thanks Becky. And while you ladies were there, you DID clear all the brush by a distance of 30 feet from the house like I asked you to, right?!

Hopefully not, after the third episode of Lord of the Rings they got a bit cocky, so we had a bit of a cull and got rid of them all.

Hey Devo! What do they charge ya to get past that there chainlink fence so you can ride that good lookin' Speedmaster o' yours on those cool lookin' mountain roads you guys got down there anyway, huh?!

(ehh, forget I asked...I know with the U.S. Dollar worth what it's worth on the international market today, if I DO get down there to NZ to find out, it's probably gonna be more than I can afford right now anyway, dude!)

Dwight, that chainlink fence is just at the edge of the lookout at the top to stop clumsy folks from taking the shortcut down.
As for the Dollar, I'm sure things will start to change soon.

OH! I see you guys down there must ALSO have batteries of lawyers at the ready to help make sure Mr.Darwin's rejects aren't forgotten by your court system, just like WE do, huh?! Hence the fence!(HEY! That RHYMED, didn't it?!)

Actually, I figured that's what it was there for.

Well, one o' these days I'm a headed down there to NZ, I'm tellin' ya. I hear nothin' but very nice things about your land.
