I believe you have a choice. At least that's what I was told by Tadpole who swapped his springs a lighter ones I guess you should email progressive just to be sure

I can't seem to find the part number for the HD 440 shocks? Anyone happen to know it?

Our bikes take the 440-4214B (B is for black). I don't think HD springs have a separate number, but rather an option to that shock. Mine has the HD spring, I'd suggest the standard duty springs. I'm 180 lbs, the wife about 130 lbs and with the HD springs, I can only use the lightest setting. I'd rather have a cushier ride that I could stiffen as needed occasionally (pretty much never).

If ever you change over to regular springs, Mr. Jones, I'd be interested in buying your HD springs, should you decide to sell them.
Ar 250 plus 150, we bottom the 440s on regular springs.

As much as I would like to have the standard springs, and not spend the extra cash, I am 6'3" 300 lbs and built like a football player, as I was one for many years. I use the bike as a commuter, and comfort would be very nice as right now I have the stock shocks pre-loaded to the max, and I can bottom them out over a harsh road. Not to mention the dive when I come to a stop. I will wear those our soon enough due to the weight and I am would like to get the best shock with the most heavy duty spring I can get on it for that time.
Now, as many have said, I ride a bike that is just too small for me, but I like it, and at the moment, I am stuck in the deal I made, and can't get rid of it to go up to a heavier cruiser, such as the Rocket III.
I am just trying to make the best of what I have.

Bucky: I might pop for a new set, if I had someone to take the old ones off my hands. BUT, my shocks/springs are black, will that work for you? Quote:

OK. I'll do it over the winter and get back to you. I have to relocate all the info I had a few months ago, pretty sure I saved it. Quote:

I found some HD 440 for $404.00 ....but I just dont think I need the heavy duty as 95% of my riding is one up and my weight varies from 180 to 190 ........

Onestopmoto.com ......after a bit of perusing that site I found they have the standard duty ones directly listed for our bikes but the HD version is listed as for a Kawasaki VN1500 www.onestopmoto.com

I weigh 198 pounds and mostly ride solo daily but also ride double weekly. The standard 440s are perfect for me, even with a passenger and load.
