I'm trying to put together a song set for a local band (mine- I'm a guitarist and am looking to start running the gig circuit again). The venue is local gigs, some outdoor festival stuff, and the like. I'm looking for input. It can be anything- country, blues, southern rock, rock... metal and jazz may be out of our reach, but we cover a lot of ground.
What you would like to hear if you could jukebox the song list for a local band to play. Think of it as request night. What would be the ultimate 8-10 songs you would want to hear at your local pour-spot?
2002 Bandit 1200/ GSXR cams/ 1277 BB Kit/ Holeshot header and can/ 38mm flatslides/ a good head/lotsa hp/lotsa tq- lots of rear tires...

A lot depends on the age group you will be playing to.
I'm busy putting together another MP3 cd for my truck as my son trashed the 130 song cd I had when he borrowed my truck a few times....
I listen to most everything except country and rap, so a list from me would probably not help you much. Besides, a perfect set for my neck of the woods might not be suitable for your neck of the woods....
Narrow it down to age and genre and I might have an idea....I've dj'd a few gatherings in my time.
More flags
More fun!

Wrap it up Southern style with Whipping Post. ....How good is your group? Looks like some challenging tunes have been posted.
Heard a three piece classic rock band last weekend. First time I ever heard Eruption done as a cover. Asian dude nailed it.

We can handle most of this. we'll even get into some of the instrumental stuff from Eric Johnson, Gary Moore, Satch, and some others. We get into trouble with the chicken pickers like Brad Paisley, Danny Gatton and Brent Mason. I choke on slide stuff (Allman Bros), too. The challenge is usually in the vocals. The Zeplin stuff is hard to cover.
Thanks folks. Were trying to put together a good party set. Mostly folks just like us.

yeesh, it looks like oldroadie is the only one who gets the concept... A LOCAL band, playing small clubs and festival type events = music that the GENERAL population will enjoy and want to listen to. "Were trying to put together a good party set" That says is all.
Don't have time right now to pitch in so try again guys. BTW NOBODY covers Zeppelin unless they're a tribute band cause anybody that can sing like that is making records! And that goes for AC/DC too.
Ciao!

If I went UFO I would go with Lights Out but Rock Bottom is good too.
Definitely gotta do Stealin' by Uriah Heap.
An interesting one that I have seen work well in bars is The Safety Dance - Men without Hats
Any SRV will always work.
I like The Who Love Reign O'er Me, one of my all time fav's but probably hard to do in the bar scene. Maybe Baba O'riley or something in that genre would work better.
Ride On!
