Ok everyone, here's a question of taste for you... I'm going to be buying a 2007 America in the very near future and was wondering what everyone thought about the blue and white with gold coach striping as opposed to the black and red with silver coach striping, to be honest, I'm having one ****** of a hard time deciding!

Soren, The all black is definitely classic, but i see to many all black america's out there. I've got it narrowed down to the blue and white or the black and red. Where to go from there is the conundrum...

But, Bob.
It is.
This has been discussed at length and it has been unequivocally proven that black has less resistance to light rays (photons) since it absorbs them instead of bouncing them all over the place and is thus faster.

Buy what strikes your fancy first, then go on e-bay and buy lots of different color tanks and fenders and change them out. It's been done.....

Deon, that's a crazy idea that I'm sure has been done before. The blue and white struck me when i saw it and am pretty sure it's the bike for me. Can't wait for that first trip to the black hills and bad lands next summer...

Get yourself to the dealers and have a good look but...make sure you see them outside in different light conditions. I didn't care much for the blue until I saw it in the sun; looks fantastic. (Still wouldn't swap it for the all-conquering BLACK, tho!!)

Pick the one that catches your eye better. Black is nice but as someone here learned when he bought his second America, you get noticed a lot more with a colour that isn't black.

Triumph were starting to get a reputation of producing wickedly fast cruiser bikes, and so to make them more conservative thay stopped producing Red TBAs. Now they only make these bikes in Blue, Black and occasionaly some over sane and sensible colour. What ever you pick you will be very happy......left behind by the red bikes......but happy.

for the o7 year, I Like blue/white for the america and Mulberry red for the speedmaster.
I have an 07 speedmaster and it would have taken too long to get the mulberry red so I went with the black and red with silver stripes.
That lasted all of 3 weeks and I bought a left over goodwood green FLAMED paint set and matching rear fender.
I'm glad they didn't have the Mulberry....I think the good wood green/flames with the blacked out engine looks FANTASTIC!

My opinion is black red, I have always liked those colors together. Thats why I have one!(not really I got black red because I got a great deal.) I have always liked the combination though so it worked out well.

I love the Mulberry Red of my 05 America ~~ but since that isn't one of your options I would go with the blue and white.
I washed and waxed the bike the other day ~~ and I was reminded once again how deep and beautiful the Mulberry Red really is. Sorry for the interruption ~~ carry on.

birchr has a point you can never go wrong with black and chrome. Wendys bike is plain black with lots of chrome and polished stainless and it looks great. She has 4 trophies now from showing it.

That is so true.
However, Lynn and I both still prefer black. Lynn has even voiced her disapproval over my lifting goodies off of Vera to put on Cinnamon girl. I mean what would you rather throw a leg over to travel 3000 miles on in eleven days? A bike with 65K or one with 20K or so? The Sceptres are staying on Vera...

Black is the color of choice for all discerning Triumph purists ...for all the reasons mentioned heretofore.
Jesus rode a Black Speedmaster in his travels through the Gallilee in order to add even more luster to his miracles than would have otherwise been noticed.
He got where he wanted to go fast as well due the lowered photon resistance factor noted by Big Bill.

Didn't Moses, having seen JC on his, also have one? It wasn't a miracle that parted the sea, he just cranked over* his black Speedie and rode straight thru!!!

And as a biblical side note, the Romans rode red TBA's. How else do you think they were ever able to catch that Jesus guy running through all those towns causing all that trouble?

Gotta be the Pacific Blue/New England White. Of course I'm biased on this one, but hey, with a good coat of wax (to reduce wind drag) there isn't a faster color out there---- Actually, the best thing to do is go look at them and get the color that feels "right" for you. We're all gonna be partial to our own. Good luck & happy shopping. Paw

Heck, when we repaint my candy orange tin I'm thinking of going with a variation on the blue and white two-tone. It's very classy.
