I, like everyone else loves reading about the bigger bikes (The soon to be released 1500 Cruiser). Went for a last minute ride with a pilot I fly with. He has an American Iron Horse. 117 C.I. S&S motor. Thing really Rocks & Rolls. But you know what is really cool? Off the line I can smoke him and I only lag slightly when he rolls on the throttle. Yes, I do have to down shift...but I think it it pretty stinking impressive that my "little bitty, teeny weeny 790 can rock and roll with a big dog! (And keep up where ever he goes!) The ONLY bike that I have ridden with that I cannot even begin to keep up with? Go figure...the Rocket III So a fancy chopped cruiser I don't have. But then again, I didn't pay over $23,000 for what is no doubt a fine piece of engineering. But I will tell you this, I was not ashamed of sitting on my Triumph America next to this beautiful bike because my BA, is CLASS all unto itself! But you all already knew that!

All S & S motors are not created equal. There's a guy round here that has one with a supercharger ,(that works)hanging on the side of the motor. You will not keep up with him. Don't even try. At least on a straight away.

I've said it before and I'll say it again I really hate the "How many CC's that thing got?" question. Every time I hear that question I think about something I read in cycle world a while ago, it went something like this. The future of motorcycle racing will not be based on the size of the engine but on horsepower and weight because now we're seeing that displacement means very little with the advancements in engineering we've seen over the last few years.
Let my dying thought be that every mile was fun and let my tombstone read,"They never made one fast enough for me."

And it's a very classy too! A terrific balance of design and performance.

I know one of those guys. When he talks bikes, you can tell he's regurgitating everything the salesman who sold him his 1600 Vulcan told him. 850 lb is a good thing?
Said Molly to James, that's a fine motorbike.

I just shrug and say, "I dunno, I don't ride a sissy bike. The Triumph has 48 cubic inches and the Harley has 96."

Mostly those long fork guys, we see them a lot here in the mountain twisties...struggling in the rear view mirror
