Has anyone tried adding washers to the top brackets to push out shield more? Would that work to make wind go higher? If not, since I have the hardware, does any company besides Clearview make a shield that fits these brackets?

I replaced my Summer Shield with a bigger windshield from SlipStreamer. It works nice and I look through it, but there is still some buffeting. I guess you still can't roll up the windows if that's what you want

I actually like the summer sheild, but not the bufetting at 100+kmh. I read someplace that a lid on the headlight helps. Anyone with experience with that idea?
Cheers

An inexpensive fix: Get a piece of fuel line approx 6-8 in. long & split it down one side (razor blade of exacto knife). Then, slip it over the top lip of you windshield. You'll be amazed at the wind re-direction this little piece of rubber makes.

I've seen this before. A friend of mine used 5/8" clear tubing on an H-D windshield. Can hardly see the tubing and he says it makes a difference...

I tried my summer shield POS for one ride. The buffetting at 70+mph was sucking the sunglasses off my face. It came off that night and has never been back on.

Lotsa folks have reported that putting headlight visors on can significantly reduce the buffettting too. I've got visors on all three of my lights and it -did- seem to feel a little smoother when I had the roadster screen on, but that could just be the power of suggestion too.

I tried that too, made a pseudo visor outta plastic just to try it, on the summer and Roadster screens. I didn't notice much of a change, but I'm quite tall, so I gave up on those screens.

This issue is popping up in a number of places on this forum. I'm 6'0 and have the SS. The increased air flow hits me directly in the face. I have to wear a helmet face shield and over 60 is not comfortable. I talked with the owner of Clearshield who wants to make improved replacments for the BA & SM SS mount. If there's anyone near Denver with a SS, PLEASE contact sales@clearviewshields.com. They plan to make much improved versions in 2 or 3 different sizes, clear or lighty smoked at a very resonable price (< 150.). It would fit right on the SS bracket (factory drilled) with ease.
