I feel really lucky I discovered this site right when I bought my bike. It was extremely helpful in making many decisions - mods, acessories, etc. Better late than never. Hope to see you posted around.

Welcome Tim,

I first heard about this site early one fall morning in 2003 whilst hanging around the Bozeman, MT "Comfort Inn" parking lot.

Then I happened upon another motel parking lot in the north Georgia hills and there were a couple dozen folks talking about this site and other things well into the night, shhhhhh.....too wierd

John,
What are you doing hanging around motel parking lots talking to strangers?

Stewart,

Not to completely hijack Tim's thread, but maybe I ought to start a "funky motel" tour post in Rides/Rallys. Could include the "Yellowstone Motel" in Glendive, MT ($23/night, we love dogs), the "Oasis" in Dickenson where the last remaining tree on the ND prairie fell on my pickup, the "Lone Steer Inn" (cafe/casino/motel/pool/doors that kinda' lock) in Steele, ND. Not to mention the cool place in Radium Hot Springs, BC, after which Friar John was heard to say, "I'll pick the motels the rest of this trip"

Chains like Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Inn, Super 8 are sometimes too cookie cutter and boring. 1950's "Mom and Pops" bring a sense of adventure where you're glad to leave with your life and no permanent scarring.
