The Daytona 675 is without a doubt the most uncomfortable bike I've ever ridden.. or maybe I'm just too old.
The Tiger (heretofore known at Tigger)is a great bike.. hi tech and well built... and they will pull the front wheel when coerced.
The Sprint.. great bike.. well built.. not the best to work on body wise... jigsaw puzzle...
Rocket.. just too dang big for me.. good machine.. just no appeal whatsoever. It was cool riding them at first but now I'd just as soon not. Pain in the butt to get crank and cams in time. And when it's rear tire changing time.. RUN!!!!! what a PITA.
The Street Triple is a quick little sucker and much more rider friendly.
It sucks they quit building Thunderbirds/ T-bird Sports/ Legends.. very cool bikes.

And I thought it was just me when I said the 675 is a young mans bike. Fast as heck and very nimble but I hurt for two days after riding it. I also was not comfortable with my face even with the bars. Tiger, me likey. Mike

My dealer is one of probably few that still permit 'regulars' into the service area. It isn't uncommon to aide one of the wrenches from time to time. I had the pleasure of assisting in one of those rear tire changes from ******. You are absolutely right on the money with that, Chy - It was not fun. Every bit a two man job with a non-motorized changer - and it still was a nightmare.

Knew I was leaving somebody out....
Not my kind of look but an impressive machine nonetheless.. very fast and handles great... decent riding position. Single sided swing arm technology is very cool.

I think if I get a second bike, I want to find a T-Bird Sport. Love that bike.

If I had the scratch for a second bike, I'd have a hard time deciding between a speed tripple and a classic tripple of some sort. Or maybe a Rocket So what's the 1620? Or should I read another thread to find out?

i do not have the extra cash for a second bike. i took the america into the dealer. the axle fell apart. i thought the rotor was warped. they treated me right. no charge. i buy a lot of items from them and they do my service work. while i was waitng i made a mistake. someone traded a 2002 trophy with 3200 miles on it. the extra 70 ponies, full gauges, black engine, mag wheels (no tubes) was a killer. comfortable and unbelievable speed.

My Daytona took some adjusting before I got it comfortable for me. Had to change the clip-on bars for Heli bars and it has made a big difference. Also added stompgrips to the tank to keep me from sliding forward every time I braked. I still need to adjust the suspension since the stock settings are REALLY firm and the rear keeps boucing me out of the seat on these bumpy SC roads. Other than that I love it. I got to ride a Speed Triple while my dealer was servicing my bike and while it was a nice ride I actually prefer the Daytona.

As one of the over 30, 40, _ _(?) crowd, I agree heartily with your from the trench assessment Chy. Ditto on the Trophy Benny. Never rode one, but I think I'd like it The twin 1500 is a very nice ride, but it's a bear to find aftermarket parts for jh

Nahh man.. No such thing.. Yota was yanking my chain and I just went along with the gag. The Speed Triples, Tigers and Sprints all have the 1050 engine. Very respectable power plant... I have one in a major state of disassembly as we speak.

I think I took some before and after pics so I'll post them as soon as I get home (still in NoVa right now). The bars are angled up from the stock angle so they are a little more 'flat' with the triple tree and I think they are angled a little forward as well. It really did make a world of difference for me. Other than the angles they are the same size as the stock bars. They're even made so that I can use the stock bar end caps.

I would think having a good angle for the wrists makes a world of difference.

The stock bars work well for racing, I never had a problem when I could 'ride properly' The problem was riding in regular street traffic with lots of stops and starts. The Heli bars make it a lot more comfortable in that regard.
