It can't be that hard - and I feel a dork asking this but how do you adjust the preload.
I have read the manual put the allen key in the hole on the collar but it won't budge. I could give it a bit more muscle but feel I might break the allen key or worst the collar. The bike is clean and well maintained so I don't think it is seized up.
When the wife goes pillion I just want to quickly adjust but it doesnt seem that quick or simple = too me anyway. I know you guys will know.

twist harder... i was in the same position as you a couple of weeks ago. You won't break anything. I used a bent bolt.

It won't hurt to spray the adjuster with WD-40 first.

And lift up on the rear fender a bit and it will be easier to adjust the preload.

A phillps screw driver will work as well. And you have more of lever to work with.

Thanks for all the help. By using a bit more muscle, help of WD 40, lifting the fender, and a phillips screwdriver I have mastered this. Thank again. Redsnapper
