My Ducati riding son renewed his insurance today and called to tell me he is covered to ride any motorcycle with the owners consent and that included my Trumpet.

Now bearing in mind his current girlfriend fell in love with my BA, and another lecturer at the college where he works has just traded his R1 for a new Speedy, I can see a few lively 'discussions' between us ahead !

Dunno whether to be proud or worried that he'll suggest that I try his ride....er I mean bike.....er....knowing my luck I'd end up on the Ducati !!!!

If you do it today you MIGHT regret it. If you CAN'T do it tomorrow you WILL regret it.

Don't worry Brummie. Riding a Ducati is great!!! That is, as long as you aren't spending an inordinate sum of your wages on regular chiropractic treatment already.

Yep, reading of this "luck" of yours reminds me of the few times in the recent past when my friend who owns an absolutely beautiful blue and silver 1977 900SS Ducati and I have (at my insistence, mind you) swapped bikes during a ride. That old Ducati's bevel-drive engine produces power like a locomotive! And it handles like it's on rails!

Yep! What a fantastic machine that Duck is to ride....for about 20 miles or so!

(and then I'm "insisting" we trade back!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

My buddy has a Ducati 999 that he never rides. He can't afford the insurance. Have you asked him what he payes per year? I bet its double what we pay to insure our bikes.
He's talking about taking all the street legal stuff off and just using it as a track bike. Miller motor sports park has amature(?? is that spelled right?) days.
