I removed the AI on my '07 Speedmaster today, and there was no hose from the air valve to the carburetor. I think the dealer's mechanic may have forgotten to put it back on after taking the bike apart only to figure out that he didn't have the kit to plug the holes.

There are four points on the carburetor that have the same black caps that came with my kit from New Bonneville. Can I assume that the vacuum port the tube was originally attached to is already plugged? Or should I be looking for another vacuum port?

Thanks,
--Brandon

one side should have been plugged already and the AI kit would have provided the plug for the other side.

Four vacuum ports, two on the carb bodies, two on the mainifold...and, don't forget to plug the port in the airbox behind the left cheese grater.

That's a relief. I was afraid that I just wasn't seeing the real port, though I guess it wouldn't have been running if there was an uncapped port.

For future reference (in case I ever have to put the thing back on), which port would the tube have been connected to? One on the carb body or one on the manifold?

I'm pretty sure mine was originally connected to the left side port on the manifold.
Wouldn't make any difference though. They all do the same thing.
