I hope I'm in the right place to ask this question, I had my vales adjusted and carbs resynk, runs graet but sometimes after short hot soak it is hard to start, it will take a few cranks and some throttle to get her going, the mechanic said that maybe the battery is low and or the spark from the coils is some what weak. I do not think is the battery, what you people think. (04 america stock air box over size jets )thank's for any input.

Hey Mike,

I assume you mean rain or washing by 'short hot soak'?

First thing, don't use your throttle on starting. With the airbox, this could lead to a blowback that might crack it or worse. btw, can you qualify 'takes a few cranks'?

What I would do is (in no particular order!) :

- raise the idle a little (just did this for the wife's T100 and she cranks right up now (the bike! ))
- check/clean the battery connections
- check/clean the spark wires (a light coating of dielectric grease wouldn't hurt either)
- have battery checked or just replace it

Considering you have an 04, that battery could very well be starting to lose it.

I'm on my third one....
