Hey everyone I am in the market for a secound bike. I have my america now that I love for cruisin but it is just way to slow and leaves alot to be desired for me. I have a 97 Bigdog that had all kinds of work and was very fun to ride but it had a harley heritage and with that came problem after problem so I sold it. I am looking at either another cruiser liek the yamaha warrior or a sport bike like the suzuki sv100 or hyabusa. What does everyone think? any suggestions? oh and im not looking for another triumph.. thanks

Well, I'm having a blast on my '01 Bonneville cafe project so my suggestion won't do you any good...

I have a Yamaha Warrior, great bike, lots of torque, but quite honestly not that much quicker than a Speedy, check out my gallery.
Triumph Scrambler Diablo Red & Silver (2014), Arrow Exhaust, FI remapped with TTP #4, 16 tooth sprocket, Triumph Gel Solo seat & Rack, Progressive 440 1" lowered Shocks, SAI & O2 Removal, Airbox Restrictor Plate removed.

I am seriously thinking of selling the Warrior to either finance a new Speedy (mine was totaled recently) or maybe even go with a KTM 690 SuperMoto, check them out. (Not for everybody) but I like to be different.....................

You might think about giving Harley another try. You say that Big Dog had a ton of work done to it. My experience has been that most peoples Harley problems are self induced or at least related to some improper modification. I love my speedy but I love my Fat Boy also. It's one of those triangles. I can take turns riding them; no chance of both at once. Just as well I hear it's kind of awkward aftrewards

Hyabusa.....wow, brilliant bike but waaaaaaaayyyyyy to fast. Everyone i know who has owned one has told me how they had to sell it because it was so diseptiveley fast. They are so smooth and quiet thet you sit thinking you are doing a leisurely 75/80 when in reality you are clipping along at a ton plus. Beautiful machine, but kiss goodbye to your license.
The SV1000. I can talk a little from experience on these. The SV is the second generation TL1000. I had a 97 TL1000S, and i can tell you it was one wonderful machine. V-Twin touque, very powerful and handled like a dream. The SV has been detuned a little. taken away some of the top end to give it more mid range, which it didnt need as it pull from 30mph in top without any trouble. The big advantage between the SV and the TL. The SV is a lot more comfortable. The bars are not so low down. The TL was very uncomfortable, clip on bars were set low and your wrists took all of your body weight. The SV is not so radical in that department. A very nice bike. Go for it, they sound fantastic with a set of Yoshimura cans as well. A Ducati with out the servicing costs....well, almost.

thanks for all the opinions everyone. I have watched videos of people doing wheelies on the warriors so I figure its got to me fast enough haha. But maybe the sv would be a good choice, I am even thinking of the 650 and not the 1000 because I really dont need all that. my buddies are into doing stunts and things with there bikes and dont care when they drop them and things but me I like to clean my bike and just cruise. I hate trying to choose a new bike its so hard

My OL had one of those yamadavidson things. Couldn't keep up with its own smoke, and impossible to work on. The entire drive train had to be disassembled just to replace the rear tire.

How about an MV Agusta F4CC. It's definitely different and a steal at only $120,000.

Well, since this is no longer available: then, a nice used Yamaha V-Max might fit the bill...brutal power and fairly well built.

I know you wrote you're not looking for a Triumph, but if you see one of these up close and in person, it's tough to hold back the drool. http://www.triumph.co.uk/usa/3603_5009.aspx Be one of the lucky 50 in the world to own one. 1050 cc, 130 HP out the door. I saw one at Gengras in Hartford. Wish'dyda had a spare $12K. First stop would be at the apothecary for a set of diapers.
