A real triumph for cafe ownerThe new owner plans on opening the crate, breathing some life into her, and having a WWII vet take her for a spin.... and more.

Hope it has faired better than that car that was in the time-capsule in Oklahoma. It'll be interesting to see what it come out like.

How dried out and crusty will cosmoline be after 50 years? Should take a fair amount of elbow grease, but I can't wait to see the assembled bike.
Women and cats will do as they please. Men and dogs should just get used to that fact and relax

Having had the "pleasure" of cleaning 50+ year old cosmo off of a rifle or two...I can say it doesn't really dry out, it's just really really horridly sticky and probably one of the worst substances to clean out of crevasses.

Yeah but I really like the crate and that one doesn't come with one.
I'm not interested in having one but it would have been nice to be there for the ceremony. A friends father was a dispatch rider during the war and he says he went through something like 38 bikes during that time.

Just checked that website for an update and there was this: "Stephanie Burr Lookout Kevin Dunn, Sidecar Cafe owner, and Timothy Hastings hold up the newly opened, brand new 1957 Triumph TRW 500cc motorcycle. The bike had never seen the light of day before Saturday, Sept. 29. It came out of the box in excellent condition. After replacing a few wiring connections, the bike was started up Sunday, and Maj John Reilly took the first spin on it."
