Phil, not all states are reciprocal with all states. That is the reciprocal I am talking about. You cannot assume you have a pass on it. You also can't assume the local authority will get along with it. The sate of New York has some agreements, not many, then look at New York City. You are generally right but you have to be careful and do your homework.

Look at Vermont then Florida. Its one way not both.

Angelis: Please don't take you gun to New York City.

I'm probably leaving the pistol at home since I'm going to the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia. Too many friggin rules. If I was going anywhere else I'd consider it. Ironically, that's probably the place I'd need it most.

I wouldn't think much of taking any of my guns along unloaded and packed away but I was thinking of on my person in readiness. I am not sure about NY but I know I'm not supposed to carry into NJ last I checked. They change the darn laws so much it's hard to keep up. I wish the law would pass allowing any person lic. in their own state to carry anywhere. Any other state I mean since there are places you can't in PA with or without a lic. such as a police station or courthouse etc..

I have a sticker on my helmet that Wendy bought me that says "this sticker is 8" long" and the sticker is actually shorter than a normal helmet sticker. Funny girl!

I have road rage/anger issues. I accidentally flipped off an 8 yoa girl and her mom the other day (did not know the Tahoe was driven by a mother and daughter because of the tinted windows until I got close. Not my proudest moment). I don't have a carry permit because I would probably end up on death row.

At least I feel safe when I room with YOTA.

This is a subject that is destined to touch a nerve with some folks. Here in Washington State it's kind of odd because although we have distinguished ourselves as a psychotic "blue State," - a common citizen (like me) can obtain a concealed-carry permit quite easily. I don't have a habit of carrying my pistol (a Para-Ordanance P-13 .45ACP with various modifications), but I can if I want.

The freedom to do so is what is important to me. Beside, you all know what a cautious fellow I am - right?

"Speedmaster" is a title not a name, - and the title is not plural.

+1..this is why I dont carry, I tend to act frist think later when angry.(You wouldnt like me when I'm angry).
I keep a 12ga pump in the house (in the event I ever have to shoo away any varmints). Its said that the "ca-chunk" sound of chambering a round is a real attention getter.

It also depends on where and what happens..
When I had a flat in Utah corner of I15 and I 70, I had my little .38 in my tank bag.
However, I must've looked rather upset,a Utah Hiway Patrolman stopped to help and told the insurance peeps on the phone exactaly where I was... ( he knew where I was, I couldn't see any mile markers...dang things are a mile apart!!)...he never even asked for driver's lisc, anything....Course I did have my id in my back pocket...
Funny thing, I was so upset about the flat, I forgot a had anything in the tank bag! Remembered it when I got to the hotel in Vegas!
And yes, I've riden thru Illinois with a loaded revolver in my tank or saddle bag.....just kept to the speed limit...<G>

Kalifornia does not have reciprocity with anyone.... Surprised?

Nope...you're absolutely right! Doesn't surprise me at all, Phil!

But, everything has a write-off, ya know. Kind of a Ying and Yang sort o' thing.

Like say...we may have a few more restrictions out this way in regards to concealable weapons and all...BUT...at least WE can LANE-SPLIT in this friggin' state!

(and I understand that this simple concept is a bit hard to comprehend in the rest of the 49 states for some reason)

Thanks for that link Phil. I love how with my CC permit from NH I can carry in most any state but an virtually landlocked in doing it. MA,NY,and Maine don't allow NH CC permits, so I guess I can only visit VT.
I don't carry on my person very often, I have once or twice when I get threaten over some little thing I did here in town. (Are you taxes that important? Too get that anrgy?) But I usually have something in the truck.
