I am getting ready for my winter projects and trying to decide between freak/ghetto freak and putting in a Uni Filter and cutting out the bottom of the air box.
Who has done the latter and went to freak and if so did you notice enough difference to justify???
Thanks Steve

I've done it. Yes, it does make a difference. I was running 130 mains w/uni and airbox mods. Perfect color on plugs. Am now running 150's and still perfect color on new plugs. Noticeable increase in pull and sound.

I started by cutting a hole in the air box and fitting a Uni filter giving a slight raise in performance (130 main jets)..then i fitted the freak kit with 150 mains and 45 pilots.. it feels like a different bike to ride, both in performance and engine tone..I'd go with the Freak...

Just to butt in here but does going to the 45 pilots make a difference and, do most who freak their bikes change to 45's. Just interested as I'm aware of the "upping the mains to 150's or so" thing but was not sure about the pilots

when I first did the Freak I didn't change my pilots and it was way lean and I mean literally off the scale lean in the low range thats why I over compensated with 50s. I am running 48s now but I think thats still a bit too big for where I live so next is gonna be the 45s.

Thanks Ian. That's what I thought, the 45's being the go I mean. It's good though that you have tried the larger pilots just so we know fairly well that we are on the right track. I'm also a big fan on seeing what the plugs look like too so goodonyamate

Don't forget that your elevation plays a big part in whats right for your engine. I am close to 2,000' above sea level. So 45 might be good for me but not for you.

At sea level, I ran 42s with everything you see in my sig until I did the BB and then needed 45s.
Perfect plugs all that time too.
