well I've been keeping a low profile this summer.. Yes it's true,after being married 11 years we decided it was time to have a baby..my wife is 36 and im 47.. its been a high risk pregnancy but in about 4 more weeks we are going to welcome a son into the world. i'll keep all posted..

Wow...thought we were late at it. After 14 years of marriage, me 44 and she 39, we had a gorgeous little girl who will be 21 in November.
You will be superb parents and your son will be blessed.

My dad was 45 and my mom 37 when I came along. The best thing that you (both) can do is protect your health. You know. Don't smoke, maintain a healthy weight, stay fit. You're gonna need it  . And get used to people asking if that's your grandchild.

Congrats!! My uncle became a father at 47 also. He's not 48, I have an 18 month old adorable little cousin, I'm 30 and getting married in 3 weeks!! We have a nephew on Kim's side of the fam who is 2 months OLDER than her! Crazy how the generations get shifted... But those kids sure to make you smile and keep you young!

Congratulations and best wishes for everyone. We had our last child, a son (now six), when I was 44  . I already had two grandchildren when my son was born. He has two nieces that are older than he is. You will be fine, but as posted earlier, you can expect to be asked if he's your grandson. Just proudly say he's your son. If you are anything like me, you will be a better dad now than when you were a kid yourself. My only regret is that under normal conditions, I won't be around to enjoy him and his when he gets my age. I was an OOPS baby (my dad was 49 with 4 children 10 to 22 years older than me when I was born) and I'm really thankful for that.
