I always keep my crankcase breather clean but was wondering what would be the effect on the bikes performance or health if it was not working properly. Just curious.
If your bike has never been altered, it is an integral part of the engine and needs no maintenance. But for those who have removed their airbox, it has likely been replaced with an external unit which needs to be cleaned occasionally.
From the factory, the breather feeds through a hose to the clean air part of the airbox. This is why they added the 2 drain hoses to the box, because oil mist from the breather condenses in there.
