Today I layed my eyes upon the new 2008 model, with the new tank, at the local dealer and why I didn`t like the pic Hoffo posted a few weeks back I gotta say in the flesh (and no offence to anybody who has one because this is just a personal opinion) it has ruined the whole look of the bike. I assume the speedy will have the same tank, as the one I seen was an America, and if so it will look even worse on these. What a shame because all the other Triumphs get better looking each year but I don`t think this will ever grow on me. Long live the originals!!!!

Both the Speedy and America have the same tanks. Here in the U.S. we wont see the the '08's until December. But, I am holding off judgement until I can see them in person.

I think the change is a two part thing. They changed the tank to accomidate a feul pump, and they are attempting to attract younger customers. You gotta do what you have to stay competitive.
