any tips on removing the rider seat, only bolts i can find are under rear fender? is that the process?

undo the small bolt at the back of the passenger seat, push that forward and lift it off. now there's a bolt beind the rider's seat, undo that and lift the seat from the back.

If you pull outward on the bottom plastic piece that surrounds your ignition key switch you will find that it hinges out.. disconnect it from a bracket at the top...on the backside of the molded plastic piece you will find the secret tool that you need to do the job

You talking America or Speedy seat? America comes off as described above; first pillion, then rider seat. Speedmaster seat has a ring that you pull up underneath the side. Welcome to the forum, both of you.

thanks, will try it, also with rider seat off. can you get better access to battery holder clip?

There shouldn't be any need to remove the seat to get at the battery. Is that what you really want to do? There are instructions in the owners manual for removing the battery.
