Stopped to sit out the rain in a cafe this weekend and when it stopped my speedy would'nt go . It would start and idle but when I put it in gear it would die. I got a towel and dried eveything I could and let it idle for a while and it finaly worked took about 20 mins. Anyone know what might have caused this.

Yep the kickstand switch probably got wet. Dies when you put it in gear sounds like a dead give away to me.

my america wouldn't start after I washed it......removed the kickstand switch and sealed it with silicon and cured this condition....the switch is also easy to bypass

never experienced this after many washings and hundreds of miles of riding in the rain...definitely seal up your switch or replace it....you don't want to get stranded on the side of the road (in the middle of nowhere) in the pouring rain
