I've got a clip on a DVD that I'd like to post on YouTube. How do you go about doing that?

Good question, im looking at doing some of this myself soon and would also like to know how you do it.

Contact RodYork, one of the members here. He puts his videos on you tube all the time. He would know how to do it.

I want to put my skydiving video on YouTube. It is on a dvd and is a Video_TS file. When I open this up, I get about 6 other files. Do I have to change the video to .avi, .mpeg, or something? The video is a little shaky in some parts, what is a good editing program out there? Thanks for the help.

I did all that and after I waited a while for it to upload it says "Invalid file format".

YouTube accepts video files from most digital cameras, camcorders, and cell phones in the .WMV, .AVI, .MOV, and .MPG file formats. Was your one one of these formats?

All videos uploaded to YouTube have a 100MB file size limit. The longer the video is, the more compression will be required to fit it into that size. For that reason, most videos on YouTube are under five minutes long and there is a 10-minute length limit for all videos.

Nope it is a Video_TS file. Thats why I need to convert it over. Another thing, it is 380mb, so it will have to be compressed. I really wish I was able to do this cause the video is pretty cool. It is over 8 minutes long.

It was made with a video recorder but then put on disc and given to me. Thank you for the suggestions.

Use Handbrake, it's really easy to use and will rip the video direct from your dvd drive.
