I'd offer to ride up with ya Charlie but I'm still chained to a pay check. Cant take the time off from work, found out that payroll charged me for my vacation time while I was out on disability. HR told me I can take unpaid personal time but just cant take the loss right now.

Will, it is NOT BAD. I am planning on being on US-15 on Thursday morning, early afternoon. What are your plans?

Thanks Ryan. I should be coming through PA sometime early afternoon on Thursday. I'll be on I-81 until around Harrisburg, then taking 15 from there. Let me know if you want to try to hook up along the way.

Not sure where 15 runs I'll have to look but we may want to meet up. 81 isn't far from me but thats by Scranton. I was mapping a route avoiding highways for the most part.
EDIT: Oh I see you said Thursday. We are probably leaving Friday morning.

Will, Route 15, once you get past Harrisburg at least, is THE way to go. It is a beautiful ride and you can make time as well. It runs along the river for a hundred miles or so and goes through some absolutely beautiful country. It is mostly 4 lanes, but not really a slab either. The other lanes are even out of sight for many many miles. You can take 15 all the way into NY, even follow it pretty much all the way here, it is about 6 miles from Ed's house, just west of Honeoye. If you get on the 17/86 slab (That I beleive is also 15) you can avoid the slab by taking route 415, this runs parallel to the slab and crosses over and back numerous times but a nice ride, slower due to little towns though.
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.

I still haven't looked at a map to see where 15 is but I was talking to Wendy today and we are probably going to ride up Thursday now. So if anyone wants to meet up with us on the way north let me know. I am where rts 80 and 380 meet.

If I can get all the way to Frederick (or maybe a little better) on day one, that should be no problem. Let's tentatively plan on it. As Pat said, 15 is the way to go. I promise not to make you stop in Gettysburg.
Gonna change the oil and put the shield on today or tomorrow. Getting closer!!! Will

OK, here's my plan: Wens 9/19 ride from Norwalk to Canaan CT to stay at the Bucky Hilton. +/- 90 miles by the scenic route. Thurs 9/20 get a reasonable start, 8-9am for Canadogfood. Hopefully arrive at the Lafayette around 5-6pm. Martin's gotta good route planned that'll keep us off slabs.
Can't wait, Uncle Charlie

West bounders are welcome to join us. We should be roughly southwest of Albany around 10 or 11 am?
