i have been looking at spoiling myself with a new blue and white america for a couple of months now, i sold my 750 virago and my 650 bandit so off to the dealers to order my blue and white cicle only to be told by the dealer that there are no blue and whites in the country? So i phoned a few dealers around the country to confirm only black ones available until 2008 models due around mid to end of september (they couldn't even tell what colours they would be?) so i started to look at second hand (i know black ones are faster, but hey i want sexy not fast) in my fav colours i.e. blue/white, silver/grey or cardinal/silver. well eventually (only a week)a silver/grey one came up on e-bay and only 30 miles away. I couldn't beleive my luck a silver/grey 790 with loads of extras for 4,400 gbp, i offered him 4,550 but he wanted to see if he could get 4,700 or more in the auction so i left him thinking i'm not going to own the sexy b!tch in silver, i couldn't beleive my luck when i won the auction with 4,400, there is a god and he loves meeeee Well when rideing my virago i felt like the cats whiskers but after rideing the america for the past four days i now feel like (and look like) the dogs bo!!ocks, so many people doing double takes as i rideing around. It's just so cool rideing around with a smile from ear to ear (lucky i have full face on or people would think i'm some kind of freak). WHY WHY WHY isn't there a tool kit, i can't even take off the saddle bags, whats all that about?

You got the bike cheap and you want tools too? Some people are never happy.

$8,840.00 isn't so cheap in my neighborhood.
Congratulations on your new bike! You'll be getting lots of attention now, and a better ride to boot!

WHY WHY WHY isn't there a tool kit
I am on my 6:th riding season and i have only once felt the need for a toolkit, and that was for tighten the connectors at the battery due to another Ba.com members failure to do so the day before!
Welcome to the site and congrats to your new beauty!

Lets be sure you know what pictures to post. We want to see pictures of the bike...NOT THE DOGS BOLLOCKS. Just want to make sure we are clear about that.

Hi Wayne Welcome to the mad house, all you have to do now is meet up with the rest of us Brits and go for scoot round. That was the first thing I asked when I got mine, "so where's the toolkit then", even had the dealer looking round for it. Take it easy and don't stop smiling

Yeah yeah.. unfortunately the entire rest of the world doesn't get the same prices as the US. Down under that's an average price for it.

Glad you're happy with your new ride. Obviously you don't need to convince us that they're great bikes, but out of curiosity what's your comparison between the America & the Virago as far as ride goes?
Oh and you didn't get a toolkit coz the Americas don't break down. Speedmasters come with a toolkit tho.

Congrats on the new bike. Funny, I wanted a blue n white one and went to order it in July... Same answer, all gone. Lucky though, I liked the black and the're faster as well.. Little toolkit would have been nice but what the he!!, that's why we've got the RAC. I canned the manual and found the compartment it goes in could take a stand pad/spreader thingie... thats all I need. Enjoy.

Hey neighbour! Well you are one of the nearest to me... Congats on a nice bike. Now get out and ride... And you only need an 8mm spanner to take the seat off... If the bike is less than a year old it still has RAC cover. If not really don't worry. You won't have problems. Now really go and ride....!

Why don't you just mount your own tool boxes. You can buy them from Custom Chrome(based in Europe). They are the Harley tool boxes.....ANGELIS

Matt, the virago was an excellent ride (the shaft drive is so much smoother) but i prefer the beach bars on the america compared to the bull horns on the virago, and i wanted a change, it was either a 1200 sportster or the tba, i test drove both and i felt the tba was the better bike all round. But i have to admit if i could have afforded it i would have tried the heritage softail. Lastly could anyone confirm that to remove seat (to fit AI kit) i have to remove the star allen bolt at the rear of pillion seat first, and thanks fot all your comments this site really rocks, with so many fine, witty and helpful enthuiasts (so glad i found this site and lurked before makeing my final decision) thanks again ya all!

Yep, Wayne. To get to the bolt on the rear on the rider's seat, you first have to remove the pillion seat. BTW...Welcome and Congrats! You made the right decision to get the Triumph. (an unbiased opinion, of course)

Nice bike Wayne! (I edited your post and removed the '-thumb'). When you want to post a pic, get the properties for the actual photo and not the thumbnail.
