Hey, folks --
I'm curious about the "semi floorboards" I saw a pic of before, but now I can't find -- basically puts a heel rest on the stock footpegs. Anybody know what I'm talking about? If so, where can I get them, how well do they work (as compared to full floorboards), and do they mess up the lean angle at all?
Thanks!

I think I saw Kuryaken has them.

I think what you are looking for are the "ISO Stirrups" made by Kuryakyn for their "ISO Footpegs". Someone else in the forum has done the install and write up on it. Go to Here click on metric cruiser and then footpegs

I have the kuryakyn stirrups and wide footpegs. The are very comfortable without the look of floorboards, which I don't like. The only thing you need to know is that the stirrups will spin, ie. not stay in place no matter how tight you assemble them. I cut grooves and roughed up the meeting surfaces with dremel carbide tips. I then put a bunch of J-B Weld into the female part and tightened it up. You can remove the J-B weld that squeezed out (while it is still wet) with paper towel. I put loc-tite on the 1/4" bolt that holds it all together. I can now stand or jump on the stirrups and they don't budge. Last thing you want is them spinning when you put pressure on them crossing an obstacle.

They SPIN?!?!?! Hrm. That doesn't sound enticing. Still worth considering, I suppose, but JB Welding the suckers on doesn't sound too inviting, especially if ya ever wanna take 'em off.
Yes, those are exactly what I was talking about, tho. I'll look for the writeup on this site. Thanks!

I think some people solved the spinning my whacking the mating faces with a cold chisel, essentially knurling the mating faces so they grab better.

Jaeger, It wouldn't be a problem taking them off (other than the loc-tite) but the J-B weld would prevent you from re-adjusting the angle of the stirrup relative to the peg.

Wojo also has the Kury pegs and stirrups, I thought they looked cool and were pretty comfortable when I sat on it. I forgot to ask him about the install though.

Hey JAEGER,
I have the Kury ISO Wings on the back for my bride. I still have stock pegs on front. I am going to buy some Kury 8840 adapters and try her ISO Wings on the front before I order the Dually or Large with stirrups.
Piper uses Kuryakyn Large pegs w/stirrups.

Specify Triumph 8840 on checkout.
I have dealt with BikerHaven several times - They are great!

If you run with the Triumph Floorboards and get used to them you'll never go back to any other set up. They allow more varied foot placement while riding long distances than any thing else out there. Some folks don't like the looks, but they grow on you. I've never had anyone comne up to the bike and put them down. Most like the look.

Hey, Jaeger
I used the passenger floorboards from Kuryakyn, with some modifications of my own. I had to do some cutting and drilling and bolt replacement from NAPA. Good luck on what you decide, its the search for something different that make's for a good hunt.

My concern with the full floorboards is that it'll put the hero nuts awfully close to the ground. I already touch down with the pegs a little too regularly for comfort, so I'm really hesitant to make the pegs any longer -- hence my desire to find something that'll provide heel support without comprimsing cornering.
Have y'all found that the floorboads grind more than plain 'ol pegs? If not I may reconsider.

You can find our "HEEL PEGS" at www.streetboogie.com. They don't touch ground before the foot pegs. I've been running mine for over a year. Works for me.

Boogieman -- Oh, cool! Ok, we likes. Question, tho: these http://www.marketworks.com/StoreFrontPro...&i=21557926aren't really powdercoated... are they? Are they supposed to be black powdercoat? If so, and they're built to bold on to Triumphs, I'm in. They're perfect. Rockin. --Jaeger

Do the Triumph Floorboards get in the way of kickstand operation?

Boogieman --
Ok, upon further looking I see that "some driling is required." I'm no gearhead (yet) but I'm willing to give it a go depending on the level of risk. What tools are required for installation of the heel pegs, what gets drilled, and how detailed are the instructions?
I really, really like the looks of the heel pegs, and they appear to be what I need as far as heel support -- I just want to know what I'm getting into.
Thanks!

Jaeger, no the pegs pictured aren't powder coated. As these items are custom made to order, I used a polished set for pics. Having installed products for years, with less than informative instructions, ours are as thorough as I can make them, leaving little to chance. Drilling is limited to 5 small holes, 2 on the left boot guard aft of the foot peg, and 3 on the right in the same location. These areas are scuff guards and non-structural in design. The heel pegs place your boot/shoe toe under the shifter/brake pedal. All you need is a 1/4"-3/8" drill and a 3/16" bit. Everything else is included. I've been running mine for almost 1-1/2 yrs. They work for me. Glad you like them.

I have the ISO Stirrups and corrected the spin problem by not installing the toothed spacer...that way the teeth on the stirrup grab directly into the bracket (you can't really see it), and tighten really really tight.

Hey not a bad idea. The only time I've gotten spin is when I've put excessive weight on them.
