testing out my new set-up, new chain, new sprockets, changing the 18t to 19t CS sprocket, so I'm taking it easy, all seems well, so I downshift to 3rd gear and crank it hard up a pretty steep hill when I hear a banging clanking sound and feel it thru the whole bike....O crap I blew er up, I thought as I got out of it and coasted up the crest of the hill, as soon as I did I saw a road crew with 2 or 3 jack hammers going at once....boy did I feel silly G
I never wanted to lead, and I never wanted to follow.
I just wanted to ride.

Better a red face than a blown bike...

Geoff, I thought you were going to say you lost your chain guard. I jump when someone blows the horn in the next lane. Sometimes it's easy to forget that we are outside where all the loud city noises are.

This kind'a reminds me of all the times I'm coming up on a red light in one of my cages, and I hear that awful "SSSEEEERRRRREEEEECH" sound, and start thinking to myself...Hmmmm...Sounds like my brake pads are getting pretty worn out!
And then I look over to see an '87 Chevy Citation(or any other Old Beater of your choice) slowing down next to me at the very same time!

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

What do you think of the 19t? Have you got enough pull in first or do you have to slip the clutch? I'm thinking of going back to my orig 17t.
if life gives you lemons keep them because hey, free lemons.

It works good for me, Kenny. I dont actually slip the clutch more, but I do use more rpms before letting it out G
