Hi, my name is Pat and my Pingle leaked like a sieve too. The gaskets that come with them are doggie doo doo. You need to make some new ones from a piece of gasket stock from any auto parts store, drill the holes, and apply some gasket sealant to it. I believe there is a good description in the tech vault, if not, hey PHIL! write one up with the new goop you told me about. Again, welcome to the leak club. First rule is to not talk about leak club. Oh dam, I broke it again?
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.

Don't know if there is one in the Vault or not and I have no problem typing this up, so..... When I initially installed the Pingle, I tried the blue goop and the gasket that came with it. It blew out with less than 4 lbs. of torque! Went to NAPA and got some gasket material (the dark gray stuff) and used red RTV as a sealant. Almost three years later, the RTV turned to black, sticky goo which is not a good thing. Back to NAPA, this time for a product called Seal-All Cleaned everything up and used the adapter plate to trace two gaskets. Used an Exacto knife for the holes, btw. Applied the Seal-All to both sides of both gaskets, the adapter plate, and the tank. Put it all together and hand tightened the bolts to give it some pressure and assembled everything later. Seal-All and the gasket material from NAPA is the only way to go.

made my own gasket from the get go, worked great. no leaks at all. for what they charge for those things the gaskets should be top of the line

Agreed. But if they didn't include a gasket in the first place, we would have to make one. Pingel aught not to include a gasket.
Had a 62 Hillman I had to always cut gaskets for. Might as well for a trumpet or two.

I nice trick for cutting the holes is if you have a ball bearing around, lay the plate down with the gasket that you've cut on top of it. Then place the ball bearing on top of the gasket where the holes are and give them a tap with a hammer.
This will punch out a nice hole for you. Make sure the gasket hasn't moved when doing the next one. Also if you can for next time, weld the ball bearing to a flatened punch. Makes it easier.

I have a series of hole punches and that's the only way to go. One hit with the hammer and a very clean cut hole. Worked for me

Fitted my Pingel only 1000kms ago, but not a sign of any leaks so far. Probably the rarefied air in Australia. It doesn't smell over her either
