I tried out my new Shoei TZ-R today and it is the quietest helment I have ever had. A snug fit but comfortable. Previously had been using KBC's. I reccommend the TZ-R.

How about the airflow. Do you think it would be cool in hot weather?

I'm wearing it on some pretty hot days and the air flow seems to be good. As far as noise, if you open the shield up while riding you will get a wind noise. Try on on and see if you like it. They are a snug fit.

These folks gave it high marks too http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/shoei/tz-r/Good air flow, quiet, & comfortable with Shoei quality - doesn't get much better than that

I ordered the Shoei TZ-R last night, as the local Cycle Gear did not have the color (Silver) in my size. Also, I noted that some in-stock helments can be as much as 2 years old, so I made sure they ordered mine from the distributer and not another store.
Note, I have an oval head and it fit me. The X-11 also kinda fit but was twice the price, but the mid-priced R-1000 did not fit at all (it seemed to be for round heads only).
I hope the airflow is sufficient, because it sure is a nice fit and looks to be of great quality.

I've always worn Shoei's - just seem to fit me. Bought a RT-1000 this past sping as my last one was 5 years old and the shield did a "sproinnngg" and I lost parts at a gas station!!! Had to tape it closed with electrical tape to get home. But I like the new one - has the dragon paint job - can't have anything boring!!!!! Its warm in the hot weather as its full face - but I can't stand the blast-furnace-in-the-face-kinda riding! Becky

Well, I got the TZ-R and rode with it a few hundred miles over the weekend. Snug but good fit. It is comfortable, not heavy at all. Visor and attach mechanism are also first rate.
Road it with and without my AlleyCat windshield. Still has wind noise above 70 mph, but not too bad.
It is a little warm in the 95 degree plus weather here though, probably like all full face helments.
Quality is excellent and I would recommend this helment if it fits you. It seems made for a oval or slightly oval head.
