Well I decide on my pipes the other day and was about to order them. Went to the eye doctor and found out the glasses he says I need are more important than nice sounding pipes right now. Maybe I should perform a bafflectomy for now?!?

my thought, is if you plan on getting performance pipes, leave the stockers alone, so you have them. they might come in handy, you never know G

Unfortunately in Denver we now have limited options... As of July 1, motorcyclists in Denver could be ticketed $500 for putting mufflers on their bikes made by someone other than the original manufacturer, if the bike is 25 years old or less.

They definitely wouldn't be the first extra parts I've held onto. My G/F will LOVE it! I keep telling her "That's my winter project" problem is, we don't neccessarily have a winter. I can ride year round (most years), and I can't see wrenching on something instead of riding. Unless it's a needed repair or maintenance.

Does this just apply to Denver residents, or can you be ticketed just driving through there with non factory pipes?

Does Denver have the same rule for cars and trucks?? If not than that would be discrimination against us bikers.

It's definitley blatent discrimination. But, it politically corect discrimination, so that makes it ok (in their eyes).
If you want to live in a dead quiet society, move somewhere where there are no people (but then you may have to pass ordanences against owls, bears, wolves an etc).

I'd tell Denver politicians to back off because they are invading everyone's public.

You really should keep the original parts as they are. If you ever ge a fixit ticket they will come in handy. Also, if you ever decide to sell the bike, it will probably bring more cash if you put it back to factory stock.
