I think we better leave this now for next year, it is not the place to be on a bike if there is ice around and not that clever if the road is wet as you are riding on tarmac that resembles sheets of glass as it is that smooth in places.
I think best bet is to camp at Little Langdale, pub opposite campsite for food etc.
Any other suggestions welcomed

Sounds good to me Ray. As I said at BBQ will need at least a month's warning to get time off. Can't wait though.

I'd be up for it but like paul unfortunately I'd need about a months notice to get the time off  . Went to wareham camping last weekend and that was freezing in the middle of the night so don't fancy camping up a hill at present  . We have decided that B&B's are in order now. What wimps!

I believe you can also book into the Old Dunge and Ghyll Hotel. I wonder if they still stock traditional ales and Old Perculiar.
