Bonneville America Forums Forums Technical Forums Exhaust Short Slash cuts

Purchased a set of Slash cuts of Ebay, good condition with baffles supplied, but far to loud (can't sneak out!!)thinking of putting silencer wadding in baffles any ideas?

Take the mufflers off.Measure the inside diameter of the muffler.Go down to NAPA or an auto parts store.Purchase two freezeplugs the size of your muffler-it should be ruffley 1-3/4" .Knock them into the front or of the muffler .Then drill a hole in the center of each one.Install and test run.If too quite take them off and ream out the plugs with a porting tool or drill out with a bigger drill bit.It's cheap and worth a shot.

Should be able to find just some generic baffles at most any bike shop or online.

J&P Cycles has tons of different baffles. If you remove the rolled lip from the end of the pipe unless already gone , I would guess it is since it was supplied with baffles,You can get some that fit that dia. or like said above go in the 1 3/4 end and they have the available for that too starting at about $4.
