I'm going to try to make my way down to Arkansas from Montana, but my Road Atlas doesn't show any scenic highways through Nebraska or Kansas. For those that have been there, do you have any suggestions for routes to take or avoid? I would prefer to keep it around 55-65 and actually see the country. - Dale -

Lotsa luck.
The road map of those two looks like graph paper.

Having logged some miles on the ground and through the air of Nebraska and Kansas the best route is usually followed at night !

Been a long time since I been to that part of the country. But I think it's safe to say. "If you've seen one grain silo, you've seen them all."

The percentage you're paying is too high-priced While you're living beyond all your means And the man in the suit has just bought a new car From the profit he's made on your dreams

Ok, that was a tacky responce.... truthfully, I prefer
Hwy 159/169 once in Oklahoma cut across 60 to 59 and go South....stay on 59/259 to Broken Bow then go East on 70 to beautiful DeQueen, Arkansas......

Ummm yeah.... the roads are called Utah, Wyoming, Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico! <BG>

Yeah.... take I-70 over I-80/90.
There's not too much scenic in Neb, Kansas is a teeensy bit better. Last summer I rode from Cleveland,Ohio to Napa Valley, Ca to see my son. Riding thru Nebraska I was REALLY REALLY wishing I had a radio, TV or something! It was very boring on the interstates. The side roads are just as boring, just slower. I took a few of those, too.
I admit, 5 days out, 6 back, 3 three visiting..not much time for sightseeing. If I had the time I'd take any road through Utah (except I-15) to south of I-80, then go east.
Be sure and check Streets and Trips or Google or whatever, there are only so many roads across the mountains.

Where are you going in AR? There's a ton of nice roads there.
