I was out with the local Rat group last night with my wife when our daughter called & said my son Luke has had an accident on his bike & has been taken to the local hospital! So we raced back to pick up the car & rushed down to the hospital. Turns out his back wheel kicked out on something on the road & high sided him. He has a broken collar bone & gravel rash on his ankle... cos he only had trainers on he won't do that again.. I mean on a GSXR 600, which he has only had for less than a month!and hasn't even made the 1st payment yet you need to be fully kitted out in leather. Considering the state of the bike he got off lightly & at least the Arai helmet did the job.
Man! don't kids just worry their parents to ****** sometimes

Speedy recovery for your son, a bit of a sickner that he's taken a tumble without even paying a first payment, all he has to do now is recover properly and then start the road to recovery for the bike.

Broken collar bones are no fun at all.Trust me i know.
But youth will aid the healing. So is the bike a total loss?
Could be his chance to to ditch the sport bike and get a cruiser.

As with all sports bike the fairing took most of the hit all along the left side but the frame is dented, the engine side casing is holed, oil is running out into a drip tray & the real bummer for him is that he could only get 3rd party, fire & theft insurance because of his age but as he is Susuki mechanic he should be able to get most of it done for a cheaper rate.

Thanks to everyone for their well wishes, I keep telling him he should have a cruiser or maybe now a Jawa 350 combo outfit

Glad he's not more seriously hurt.
Have you started breathing again yet? This parenting business ages us.

Glad to hear your son's tangle with "The Learning Curve" didn't come out any worse, Martyn.

Wish him a speedy recovery for us, okay?!

Wait a minute..."speedy recovery" for a kid?! That's "a given" isn't it?!

(not like us old broken down geezers, huh?!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Dodged another bullet. glad he is ok to talk about it. As Dwight said hopefully the learning curve will be an advantage for the future. I know when mine are out and about I sometimes don't want to answer the phone. Hang in there Dad.

Man that sucks, hope he gets back on his feet real fast.

Tell your son there are people all over the world thinking of him today, and sending him best wishes.
