I seem to have collected a wasp nest under my front steps. I need some ideas on how to get them to vacate. I have a hollow cement step and can't see or get to their nest. I tried to "bury" the entrance with dirt but they just found other ways in. i herd that brake cleaner or ether kills them but I don't want to burn down my house or blow-up the stairs. Any hints would be great. I'll be heading out in an hour or so to try again. Thanks.

Just go to the hardware store and get a can of good fast knock down wasp and hornet spray stick the tube in there and empty the can.

Onejack has the answer. Get the most potent killer you can find and empty the can in everwhat hole they are getting under there from.

Get 2 cans, so you have 1 left to battle the survivors of
the initial attack. You'll know what I mean.

wait till just after dusk to do it...they will have all returned to the nest and will be realitivly inactive then...this allows for the most death and destruction heheheh um er ...with the least amount of danger...di I mention the most death and destruction

Thanks guys. I went to the store just after posting and got 4 cans of flying bug killer and 2 cans of expanding foam insulation to seal the crack. In a few minutes I'll be battling the little pests!

I had a wasp nest by my back door last week. I got some Raid Wasp and Hornet Killer from Home Depot. This stuff was good. You could stand back 10-15 feet and spray it at the nest. Death on contact. Worked a treat and the stuff hangs around in the nest for a while so all the bugs that were out and about got theirs when they returned home.

Check the label - actives - Pyrethrin or it's syn . cousin Permethrin . Also Piperonyl Butoxide. These will render the critter necrotic in nanoseconds . If it doesn't have one or both of these , it's just candy . ( I used to be an insecticide formulator back in tha day ).If you have Scepters , back up to them and gun it , they hate them , it messes up their algorhythms .
