Rats, I hear them squeak when I break or hit a bump. I am trying to remember if I can make them shut up by spraying WD-40 up into the shrouds. Does anyone remember this problem and solution?

I remember reading awhile back that your shroud might be a little oval shaped instead of round and you can bend it so it won't rub the fork.

WD-40 worked for me. Sprayed it once and has been quiet for 14,000 miles!

I had the same problem when my bike was new (less than a 100 miles). I used WD40 and it stopped it. Keep a rag with you for a while because it will run out for a few days. After about another 150-200 miles it started again, I used WD40 again and the problem has not returned.

A wee shot of WD40 up the legs under the "nickers" will shut it up. Whilst you're there, make sure the shrouds are centered well enought that they aren't touching the sliders.

I had the same infestation when mine was brand new - mentioned it at the first service and the guy loosened the mounting bolt, wiggled it a bit to centre it, and tightened the bolt. Mice haven't come back since.
